1. I am brand new to online with my Switch this week. I have my name with a Mario icon, and then I have a nickname with a mii picture, then there is the console name. What would show up to other people? I have a friend that wants to add me but I don't know what to tell him. 2. Also how do I add friends once I figure this out?
@coffeeboy The name with your mii/character picture is what other Switch users will see.
Two ways to add friends
1. Switch friend code
2. Or from the "User's You've Played with" page.
On Switch home screen, click you user icon, then under the Profile tab, you'll see your user icon; Beside that, you'll see
"Friend Code: SW-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx".
That's your friend code.
How to add friend via friend code:
Click your user icon(mii/character). Select Add Friend tab. Enter your friend's friend code there. It will send your friend an invite, which they have to accept to complete the process. (Your friend will have to tell you their friend code. Or you tell your friend your friend code, and they enter it into their Switch)
You can also add people via Search for Users You Played With. In there it will show a list of the most recent people you've played against online (if you have played an online multiplayer game).
