While we do not know for sure what the graphics of the final build of DOOM will land on. It's been a shock to many that the Switch was able to run it to the point where it's playable in any sense. With that being said it brings to mind Metroid and what the capabilities are for the game. A third party porting a game onto a Nintendo Console is one thing, but we all know no one knows how to get every single drop of power out of a system like Nintendo. Nintendo's world class optimization, high quality world design, and focus on very very very smooth gameplay has me extremely excited for what Metroid could look like graphically. Metroid in my opinion has the chance to be one of Nintendo's most immersive games ever if they follow the path they've already set for years.
Do you guys think Nintendo will really try to go all in with this installment, or just go through their usual motions?
Well now Doom is interested. But Doom was mocking Metroid for her current situation in 2016, boasting about what a great revival is really like. But now that she has two new single player adventures coming out, now he's interested. Hmm, ok.
I suspect that Metroid Prime 4 won't be nearly as impressive as it won't have a budget that can even come close to touching DOOM. We're comparing a multiplatform game with a potential userbase of over 100 million (combined) to an exclusive designed for a platform of what will probably be under 15 million users by the time that it's released, and is unlikely to sell more than a couple of million copies (if previous sales figures are any indication). Of course I would love to see them go all out on this, but the Metroid brand is not currently in the state, sales-wise, to command a high budget. I have no doubt that it will be fantastic, but I doubt that it will blow us all away like the announcement of DOOM has.
I don't get the framerate obsession. Sometimes I wonder if people judge the beauty of a game by how it looks when they play it or by specs and Digital Foundry videos.
@Pigeon I've actually played Doom on the Snes back in the days, and I had a lovely time with it !
Don't get me wrong though, I don't "have an issue with framerates". Well that doesn't mean anything, but I mean I don't "like" frame drops. I'm only saying 30fps is fine with me.
Seen Doom running on Switch. Mind Blown!!! I got a switch that day! Can't wait for 11!!! It looks better on the small screen than ps4!!! It runs smooth as well😉😉😉😉
