But, with my TV doing 4K upscaling, even 1080p movie rentals from PSN look dang near as good. Not quite, but definitely better than streaming 1080p from Netflix. At first I was hesitant about paying the extra few dollars for the 4K service but now... I could never go back

Japan is the only market with we have LTD figures for. The PS4 Pro has now sold over 170k units in Japan.
Sales updates are rarer for other markets, but we did get a sales breakdown for the US market in December. Sony sold 1,568,000 PS4 consoles in December, with 238,000 coming from the PS4 Pro.
Sony has been quiet about the PS4 Pro sales, because there's not a lot to shout about. If you factor in the rest of the world, total sales since launch would be around 1 million, if not lower.
So, I have this burning question about the Switch that I just can't find the answers to. If any if you have had a hands on experience, can you answer this for me please?
Now, for the question:
Does the Switch dock have insulation of some type? Is there space between the walls and the sustem itself? The way it looks, it seems like the screen is at high risk of being scratched. I hate scratches.
I just had a dream about the NX! The system is going to be focused on multiplayer and hanging out with friends. The console is going to be in a suitcase type cover with a handle so you can easily take it to a friend's house, and it will also be able to fold into a small chair for easy extra seating. You heard it here first!
Basically, the system being a suitcase would be like it being portable and easy to take with you places, and it being able to unfold into a chair for easy extra seating is like it having controllers for easy portable multiplayer. And I mean, in the dream it was focused on multiplayer and hanging out with friends...
I actually kind of hope the rumors are true now just so I can claim I had a dream predicting the NX.
Okay, now that we know exactly what the Switch is, can I just say I'm still kind of weirded out by how that dream was actually a pretty darn accurate metaphor for the Switch?
@Tarvaax That's an interesting question and one I doubt anyone has ever thought to ask. But this is Nintendo and if there's one thing they do, is test their products over and over and over for all kinds of things and being that taking this thing in and out of the dock is going to be extremely regular, I'm sure Nintendo did huge testing here. So if it caused scratches then they'd no doubt have found out.

... and they'll be dealing with a whole host of majorly disgruntled customers demanding replacements/refunds if they don't.
That being said, I'm putting a screen protecting film on mine. The only time I ever notice they're there is when the screen is turned off, so I don't know why people don't use them by default (or why they're not included in the package).
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit actually, most of them distort colours a great deal. So much so that I don't like them. And for most of my devices, the screen protector kills the anti-scratch coating they have.
Nah, not one screen protector is ever going to touch my beautiful devices again.

A great deal? You got evidence of that? Well, if they do, as I said, I don't notice - if it's a thing at all then it's a very minor one, IMO. And once the film is on, it's not like you're going to be alternating much, so you'll get used to any distortion in no time. After inexplicably getting a minor scratch on my Wii U gamepad, they're a no brainer, and I've always used them on my phones and N3DS with no issues, and more importantly, no scratches.
@gcunit Well, I see it. And it's not minor at all, though I'm very aware of stuff I see as I'm a designer by profession lol.
A scratch on your screen is horrible, I agree. I've yet to find one that doesn't negatively impact heat dissipation, display wear because of that, and obviously the visuals.
I'll use a screen protector too - I don't notice the color distorsion and I prefer to have than to lament the possibility of getting a scratch in the future.
Its better than the countless "Heres the list of games that arent coming!" videos. Sadly most of those are due to bad timing as dev teams wrap up and the others no one expected or asked for.
And regarding everyone saying Borderlands 3 should be there, remember its Randy Pitchford who said that...and his track record of verbal diarrhea.

@Luna_110 Yeh, as much as many of the announced games have underwhelmed me, the following games do excite me having watched that and knowing that I'm now getting a Switch:
ARMS - will buy if reviews/plays well (please let there be a demo on the eshop)
Stardew Valley - looks ideal for a portable, will buy if price is reasonable (current Humble Bundle appearance relevant here)
Bomberman - looks good graphically
Fire Emblem Warriors - will buy at some point, but need to play at least one main series game first, me thinks (I have Awakening and Fates unopened)
Dragonball Xenoverse - price dependent
Dragon Quest Heroes (and maybe X and XI, but backlog)
Skyrim - want to support this, so will buy if priced competitively
FIFA 18 - will buy if EA don't let us down and price is right
BotW - obvs - bought
Sonic 2017
Project Octopath
Rime
Steep
Snake Pass
Super Mario Odyssey - obvs -
Tales
Ultimate Street Fighter 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Plus MK8D and Splatoon 2 will be hard to resist.
Also, that video doesn't show Hollow Knight, which I will definitely get if it plays as good as it looks.
I think Switch is going to put my PS4 out to pasture beyond Ratchet and Clank. Its not pulling me in the way PSone and PS2 and even PS3 by this point in its life did, nowhere close.
I was saying Ill get Sonic 2017 and Mania and Puyo Puyo on PS4 but Id rather have them on a system Ill be using more anyway, because there is more on the plate to entice me into Switch.
Poor PS4. I really want to love you but...I cant.

Did anyone go to the Switch Event last weekend? I've got tickets for the Manchester event on Saturday and wondering whether it's worth going or if I should just wait for launch.
