24 hours left, people. We're at the home stretch. Make your final predictions.
Here are my predictions for the Switch Presentation 2017:
1. Pricing and bundle details
2. Features blowout: Show us what this thing can do, and what it's battery life will be.
3. Software blowout: 3D Mario that is more of SM64 than it is Super Mario 3D World. Splatoon, Smash, and Mario Kart in some form. Some third-party goodies, and some surprises.
That's really all I expect. At the end of the day I want the new 3D Mario game to blow me away. That's probably the reason why I'm hyped, because I have pretty modest expectations.
But anyway, 24 hours remaining. It's time to get hyped.

God first.

Going in, I think the biggest complaints will be storage and the number of ports. Storage is going to suck if you're going all digital, that's the reality of it. Also, just like any other modern system, there's going to be a TON of ports in the first year.

@DarthNocturnal Well, there is Micro SD card support. Right now a 128 GB card is $40 (USD) on Amazon, while a 200 GB card is about $70. It jumps up about $100 more for the next size up. Hotswapping those cards is gonna be a thing I guess.

One storage solution that I've seen people mention would be to allow external HDD support on the dock, but for storage only (meaning not allowing you to run a game off of it) and then having a data management app to swap games between the external HDD and the SD card. Doubt Nintendo will implement that though.

@IceClimbers That's quite.... smart. Wow, internet people can be smart sometimes.
But yeah, the storage I expect for the Switch isn't mind blowing. I expect about 64GB to 128GB. That's going to disappoint a lot of people, but that's how I see it going if Nintendo wants to price the Switch generously. The game swapping is a darn good idea, though... I could actually see Nintendo doing such a thing.

God first.

Storage is a big thing for me so I hope it won't be an issue.I download nearly all my games as it's the cheapest way for me to get them.I now have a game shop near me that I can get most games from that wasn't there when I got the Wii U but the awful rate of the pound combined with the already expensive Thai prices means I'll be paying at least 40% more for them, which I can't justify.I'm already going to have to pay more than most for the console but I would need to do that anyway if I had one sent over from the UK.I had to pay around 70 quid in custom taxes to receive my Wii U.I can justify that but I can't justify paying nearly 60 quid for a 40 quid game.

So there's that but also i like having all my games there ready to play, all those little icons help bring the console to life I think.I'm sure I've used up around 200gb on my Wii U and I've only had it just over 2 years. With the Switch games likely being larger in size and 128gb SD card support being the only realistic option,I don't know how they're going to get around that one.Having to buy multiple 128g cards will work out a lot more expensive than buying a single external hard drive.

My guess as to what that port that isn't actually a port is: YOU'RE A PORT NOW. YOU'RE A SEQUEL NOW.

I guess it depends on how many games people buy physically. Personally I think I'll end up buying more games physically for the Switch than I did on the Wii U. Purely because its a system that uses cartridges rather than disks. And on the Wii U I never filled up my 250GB external HDD so....

Here's my hopes/wants for the announcement. Trying to keep my wants as few as possible so I'm likely not to be disappointed!

Want
Zelda: BotW- launch title (including Europe!)
3D Mario- launch/summer title
Price point of ÂŖ249 or below
Mario Kart 8.5- launch/early summer title
Pokemon stars- Fall 2017
Free to play online

Hope
Purchases carry over to next system (perhaps small upgrade fee)
Announcement that all GC/GBA and earlier titles will come to VC
Mario Sports Superstars at launch or just a straight up Golf game. I'm a sucker for Mario sports games!
Mario Party game in works that gets rid of the car system (or at least makes it optional)
Metroid game in the works
F-Zero game in works
Yooka-Laylee Switch version
Achievement system

Probably plenty more too! I'm interested in what they've added to Splatoon that might get me interested in getting it. I didn't really like playing online because I wasn't very good, so hopefully a local multiplayer (so I can at least battle and beat my gf! never thought I'd being saying that ) and a good single player campaign might get me giving the game a go again. I'm also interested to see what the Mario/Rabbids game is like

@IceClimbers Yeah, if any of the port rumours were incorrect it would definitely be Splatoon judging by the Switch reveal trailer.

The were port rumours beside from the ones in the trailer (which also included Skyrim and NBA) such as Mario Maker, Smash Bros, Xenoblade and PokÊmon.

Whilst Splatoon is the likeliest I wouldn't rule out Smash Bros.

Yea, I'm going with the cartridges for my games this time around, saving whatever small amount of storage it comes with purely for patches and such.

Honestly, though: CARTRIDGES! I love them.

Of all the rumoured games that could get ports I think Splatoon is one of the only ones where a sequel would make just as much sense. There's enough they can do in a new release to warrant them changing it a lot. Compare that to games like Smash Bros and Mario Kart which are well established franchises. Games like Xenoblade which are massive and probably wouldn't be able to be redone in that little time. Or Mario Maker which, frankly, could exist largely as-is forever and nobody would care.

But I guess we'll find out in less than a day now so....

@jump I would, not only does it take a long time to make a Smash game but Smash 3DS/Wii U also had significant post-launch support.

Not a specifically long time, it's always been less than 2 years in development.

Just warning everyone so you can keep that specific hope in check: Pokemon Stars most likely will NOT be announced at the presentation. Not even mentioned.

From a business point of view, it doesn't help Nintendo and Game Freak since they are still pushing S&M on the 3DS, and announcing Stars would only cannibalize sales. Its textbook strategy for undergrad students - I doubt a company with so much experience would make such an amateur mistake. Expect it maybe for Holiday 2017.

Pokemon Emerald, for example, was released in the US on 2005. R&S were released on 2003.

Apart from that, we've got around 15 hours to go! The hype train is increasing its speed!

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
