@MarcelRguez Yeah it's completely expected but some people were convinced they could be ported. Some people just refused to be believe that "only on PlayStation" really does mean only on PlayStation.
I'm becoming so concerned about the third party support now, to the point that I actively and purposely highlight how concerned I truly am when I have actually just been pretending all along.
Hello Shinion!
@Ralizah was hoping to play Persona 5 on the Nintendo Switch so, it sucks for him. It's the perfect game to play on the go too, just like Persona 4 Golden is on the PS Vita. Here's hoping that Altus can do something (about the Persona series) somewhere down the line.
@Peek-a-boo In fairness, I never really expect Persona 5 to show on the Switch. For better or for worse, that series is married to Sony's hardware. It's one of the two games I bought my PS4 to play.
Hopefully Atlus will announce a new MegaTen game for Switch before too long.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Looks on Neogaf and sees thread about Atlus PR guys Persona 5 comment *
I wonder who this news could possibly attract to the Nintendo Life Switch thread...

Like clockwork!
In all seriousness that is kinda surprising, seems like a Goldenesque RE-release is all that could happen as far as this game is concerned if that PR guy is wholly sincere.
It's the next JRPG I'm looking forward to at any rate, should be great to finally get into this series in April.
Nobody should be surprised about Rayman Legends on the Switch. Remember one of the first 3DS games was Rayman 2. It was also one of those games that here in Australia was thrown in as part of unofficial retail bundles. Putting a Rayman game out for launch is the Ubisoft equivalent of having a port of Mario or something there as library filler.

I still have hope for third parties. From what LKD herself has said, her source is in Ubisoft. That doesn't mean there aren't more projects in development that we haven't heard about.
She doesn't have sources in eastern third parties, for example, so we still might be for a surprise.
With no information at all, this is about what I expected the launch to look like after the Eurogamer leak:
Don't pay attention to the specifics of that list. Basically, I thought that it would be like the Wii U Vita and 3DS combined. Plus new Zelda. Which were all individually not that great launches. But combined? It's not too bad. And lets face it, devs who supported those platforms? Where else can they go? There isn't really another portable on the market. There isn't really another Nintendo platform.
And if the launch is better than the above imagined list? I see that as a bonus.
@UGXwolf You are an f'n idiot. Blizzard publishes it's own games the are not a devoloper for Activision like Treyarch or Infinite Ward. Look at the credits on WoW or any other Blizzard game do you see Activision's name, logo or anything else anywhere. No you dont.
Please get your facts straight before sounding like a fool yourself.

This is exactly why I haven't been overly concerned about the Switch's 3rd party support (yet). All those developers that kept the 3DS/Vita afloat will stay on those systems as long as they can but if Nintendo successfully gets that handheld audience to make the "switch" then they'll have little choice but to follow. I won't be shedding any tears for Ubisoft, Activision, or EA but I'll be rocking back and forth in fetal position if Marvelous, Atlus, and Level 5 start bailing.

The Eurogamer leak. The point when it became clear that Nintendo was going to release a portable console more capable than the Wii U that could be docked. From that point I've had this idea in my head that the software the Switch (then NX) would get will be like the Wii U, 3DS and Vita combined. And likely a bit more given that it'd be hard to sell worse than the Wii U and Vita.

@Tasuki You were also a bit late in telling us that, it was already posted on the same page and everything.
But thanks anyway! Hope to see you on the 13th where we can all bathe in rays of glowing sunshine and positivity after a glorious Switch unveiling filled with 'great' (wink-wink nudge-nudge) news.
Maybe I've just missed it in the churn but one thing that's been at the back of my mind for the past couple of weeks is the new 3D Mario game. It just seems to be being taken for granted that it's going to be there at launch or - at the very least - in the launch window. I'm a little sceptical about that.
Firstly Mario Switch hasn't even been officially confirmed. Yes we know a 3D Mario is coming at some point (just b€cau$£) and we've seen some footage in the Switch reveal that appears to be a 3D Mario.
Looks can be decieving though. Maybe it's not a new 3D Mario at all but is instead footage from the rumoured Ubisoft Rabbids crossover? I doubt that (it definitely looks like a 3D Mario game to me!) but I'm not sure it's totally outside the realms of possibility.
Secondly there's an implicit assumption that because Nintendo has shown it on the very first teaser trailer that it follows the game must be nearly complete and we'll get it at or near launch. This isn't always the case. Metroid Prime Hunters was a very early, very impressive and prominent demo for the original DS (the demo even came as a heavily advertised pack-in with the first units) but the finished game didn't show until years later.
Nintendo clearly had to show that Mario is coming at some point and wanted to make clear that it's not "just" a 2D NSMB Switch or "just" a Mario 3D World ("just" one of the best games ever made...) to set the benchmark for expectations but that doesn't necessarily mean they've got the game anywhere near ready for release.
There are sound marketing reasons for them to delay one or both of Mario or Zelda. If they're both "day 1" games they would ensure fantastic early take up of the console but they would risk sucking the oxygen out of the launch for 3rd parties. Nintendo will want some of their 3rd party partners to come out of the launch with a success story to tell to the wider industry and that's less likely to happen if everyone has spent all of their Switch time and money on buying both Mario and Zelda.
Likewise Nintendo will need to have a big "holiday" game because the end of the year is the time when games - especially those with a family friendly focus - have historically sold best. Yes I know that some people will say "Pokemon Stars" (if that is indeed real) but they might also figure that a new 3D Mario is a better bet than a year old handheld port. It would also allow Nintendo to command a lot of positive media attention throughout the year (including at E3).
Personally I'd like to see Mario sooner rather than later but Mario later in the year would make a lot of sense which is a big part of the reason why I'm feeling a little sceptical about it being a launch title.
And lets face it, devs who supported those platforms? Where else can they go? There isn't really another portable on the market. There isn't really another Nintendo platform.
This is partly why I'm not too worried about third party support.
I think it only needs to be sufficient for the first year (most big multiplats and/or some interesting exclusives) and then it's all down to how well the Switch sells. Only if it sells poorly can I see it going the way of the Wii U.
I also wouldn't put much into Yakuza and Persona not coming to the Switch. Systems have their exclusives, and these are Playstation's. They're also fairly niche games, so while a loss to some of the more dedicated fans on this site, probably don't mean much for the Switch in the long run. Sega have generally been supportive of Nintendo's systems so I'm sure we'll get some Switch exclusives from them.
Without getting too analytical, I very much doubt it. It looks and plays like a 3D Mario, with a distinct Nintendo art-style and polish. I'd also like to think Nintendo Nintendo wouldn't tease us with a new 3D Mario (which is in high demand), only to reveal that it's a Rabbids game (probably still desirable, but no-one asked for it).
I think your suggestion is also inconsistent with the rumours out there. As far as I'm aware info on the Rabbids game and the (apparently now complete) 3D Mario have come from the same source - Laura Kate Dale. I'd therefore find it unlikely that the former is real and the latter is false.
@StuTwo Out of all of Nintendo's launch games, the only one the insiders seem united in their stance in is this Mario game, albeit there is uncertainty as to whether or not it is a launch game. They are convinced however that it is complete and I'm pretty sure they debunked any suggestions that they might be any miscommunications as to what Mario game this is (2D, 3D or Rabbids).
As far as we're led to believe the 3D Mario game was finished recently and was the game responsible for the delay of the Switch teaser video by a few weeks. But as to whether or not it will be released ASAP or if it is withheld a while we'll have to wait for official news it seems.
The Rabbids one is also one we have a good idea of, with the serial leakers at Ubisoft being more than happy to spill the beans on it. There's definitely no confusion as to this game and the 3D one, they've been spoken of separately by LKD for a while now.
