@WaveBoy
I'm also a huge fan of swapping the left analog with the wider grey analog that comes with their pro controller, the M9 HD. Having a wider left analog for movement is more comfy on the thumb imo. But the smaller white analog for camera is more grippy for fine movements.
I know that means buying an entire pro controller just for one analog swap, but the pro controller is good too, and by having both, both can have the wide left analog and smaller right analog.
Food for thought.

Hmm, I tried transferring my user data to my Switch OLED, but it didn't work because my Nintendo account's on both my original Switch and my OLED. Plus my play activity still isn't being shown properly, it still doesn't think I've previously played my games on my original Switch, and it's kind of bugging me. I wonder if I should just deal with it? Initializing my Switch OLED is an idea I had, but I don't know if that would work out because that might delete my Switch profile, and I don't want that to happen. Any advice is welcome... thanks!

I'm not good at this sort of thing but I recorded 60fps and checked the frame time when button was fully depressed, and frame time when input registered on screen, and got 7ms. Allow a margin of error of at least +/- 1ms
Polling rate for BT is 125 Hz, or 8ms. So my test, accounting for +/- 1ms margin of error, confirms the 8ms latency.
Like I said, I'm not sensitive to these sorts of things, all I could say was if felt snappy. And 8ms does seem on the low end.
Their Pro Controller comes with a dongle for PC that increases polling rate to 1,000 Hz, or 1ms input latency. Too bad such a dongle doesn't work with Switch (or does it? I assume not, but hey, even 8ms seems more than sufficient imo). Maybe not for diehard latency enthusiasts such as yourself, but for me it feels like an instant response.

@JaxonH Hey thanks for writing me! I do wanna say that I have the same Switch profile/play activity/friend list/friend code on both my 2017 Switch and my Switch OLED. (I know that a Switch profile and a Nintendo account are two different things.) I'm worried that if I format my OLED, then my Switch profile will be gone on both my original and my OLED Switches, so I'd have to add everyone all over again and my play activity will be all reset. I don't know if any of this is true, I don't mean to spread misinformation or anything. Just trying to be super cautious.
So I would like to ask... have you formatted a Switch yourself while having your same profile on multiple consoles? And do I still get to keep my profile with its play activity, friend list, and friend code intact on my original Switch if I wipe my OLED? I do want to give this decision a lot of thought. Everything's currently OK on my end - just my play activity is out of whack due to using the same Nintendo account on both consoles.

Beat Prince of Persia yesterday. Absolute masterpiece. Best 2D metroidvania I've ever played. Better than any Metroid, Ori, or what have you. It was incredible!
I loved it so much, get this... I actually bought the EPIC GAMES STORE version, and spent 4 hours getting the game running having to specialty install Ubisoft Connect, Epic Game Store Launcher and Heroic Games Launcher on Steam Deck. Never in my life have I bought a game from Epic Games Store. Nor will I ever again, most likely. But I had to have this on Deck OLED also.
And with Cloud saves, my progress of 83% transferred right over.
It honestly looks just as good on Switch as on Deck with Ultra Settings. There is a 720p 90fps option but the Deck can't handle it. It can barely keep up with 60.
But that's not why. I got it cause the controls are fully remappable, and having games on Steam are kind of a "forever vault" for me.
I'll let you guys decide which one is Switch OLED and which one is Deck OLED (well, I guess my little performance overlay kinda gave that one away didn't it 😀 )
@MarioLover92
It's not going anywhere. Just wipe it then transfer.

I am new here. I would like to ask few things about Switch. I am Nintendo fan since my childhood. My first ever console was SNES and never had opportunity to own N64, Wii or current Switch but i am definitely going to buy new coming Switch. Hopefully this year.
My questions:
1. Are old games like Super Mario Maker first part, old Zelda games from N64, Wii for sale in the eShop? Because as I see they are not available for Switch in their site. if not, they should have been for sale. Who would not want to play these games?
2. If I purchase Nintendo Switch Online for like 20 dollars then I am allowed to play all games for free?
3. Is internet access (like google, youtube etc) available on the Switch?
4. What I need to know before owning the Switch?
1) As of the Switch generation, the Nintendo's Virtual Console model is dead. All Nintendo games from previous consoles are now exlusive to Switch Online subscripition. You cannot buy or own them on the Switch.
2) There are two tiers of NIntendo Switch Online(NSO) subscriptions. $20 gets you online gaming access, games: NES, SNES, GameBoy. The premium tier Nintendo Switch Online Expansion ($50/yr) gives you NSO + N64 & GameBoy Advance games. I dare say the NSO expansion seems quite overpriced.
3) To make the Switch family(kid) friendly, there is no internet browser or google access. This also makes console security easier for Nintendo to maintain. Youtube app is free on eshop. The only streaming services on the Switch are Hulu... and maybe Funimation? Nintendo has avoided the tv streaming market otherwise.
4)What do you need to know before owning a switch? You asked some good key questions there already, so at least you won't be shocked that the days of buying Virtual Console games are over.
If you want to play online games, Mario Kart 8 or Splatoon online modes, or other online games those will require an NSO subscrition for online play access/internet. Exception: Free to play games do not need an NSO sub to play online. So, you wont need an NSO sub to play these games online: Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys, etc.
All digital purchases on eshop will be tied to the nintendo account that buys them. (the switch ecosystem is designed to prevent people from sharing digital purchases. There are ways to share digital games, but the caveats & restrictions are so painful, I prefer to say you cannot share digital games.
Since Switch launch, people have frequently joined this forum to complain about having multiple switches in a single family home setting, and they ask how to solve it. The answer usually disappoints. Owning multiple switch consoles is restricting, expensive, possibly dumb. Wulff Den on youtube has a video detailing why having "Having Multiple Switches Is Dumb". If you only use one console at a time, it's fine, but if you plan on using more than one console at once, you'll need to buy one copy of the game per console. (Disregard, if you're only buying one console for yourself.)
Micro SD cards: Switch hardware only utilizes UHS-1/class 10 speeds. So, you won't get performance improvement from faster UHS-3 cards. However, if you think you might repurpose that micro SD card in the future, buying a UHS-3 speed card can make sense if your thinking long term.
Nintendo's Support site has directions for virutally everything. It's a very good resource.
Got the Genki Covert Dock and the normal Genki Dock thats a bit larger. Amazing. It's so tiny, works as a charger and a Dock. Can fit in my Switch case.
Also got the Shadowcast 2 that does 1080p 60 and the larger one that does 4k 60 with passthru. And, the Genki Force Field case for Switch OLED. It's like the magnetic flip case Nintendo made for the Lite, but for OLED. I use Mobapad M6 HD joycon now so, I don't really need it, but I got it anyways cause it's awesome having a case that makes Switch OLED that portable. Plus my official joycon do have a dpad so, I may use it with my modded Switch. Idk, we'll see.

Nintendo Online + Expansion has a family plan for $80/yr you can split amongst 8 ppl. I joined a group of 7 others from this site and just PayPal them $10 every October, and it gives me NES, SNES, N64, GB/GBC, GBA and Genesis, plus online, cloud saves and access to voucher program. Highly recommended.

This made me curious and I looked and I realized I have literally never seen Nintendo's support site before. 😝
As for multiple Switches in one household, I would say 2 Switches is actually fine. You can both play the same game at the same time even online on different accounts and only pay once. One Switch needs to stay on the internet is the only restriction. Well, also you need digital games rather than physical or it makes no sense to even ask. Never watched that YouTube video you linked to but I notice it is several years old which might be before Nintendo fixed everything and made it super easy. It used to be kind of horrible but it's great nowadays.
More than 2 Switches in a household however is chaos and no sharing solution is even slightly sane.
@skywake Then, by all means, chime in, if I've got something wrong, or you have another option, or perspective.😊 The main reason I take the time to respond to people regarding tech questions is because when I joined here, I saw plenty of unserious, helpful answers. I'm sure @zlobnicazelda will appreciate helpful input.

To clarify, the two bits were saying that "everyone here" dislikes the move to NSO away from the BC model when I think there are plenty of people fine with the death of the VC model, myself included. And the other bit was that everyone uses the official Nintendo support page which... I don't think I have ever used if I'm being honest
Not intending to be combative just pointing out that probably worth editing your choice of words there. Which you've done now so, all good
