@skywake A camera would make it more aligned with a mobile phone. Maybe they have something up their sleeves to increase synergy between mobile gaming and Switch engagement.

@Ralizah Agreed there. I didn't even mention the increases to the Extra and Premium tiers, which went up $35 and $40 a year. Pure insanity when their Game Pass equivalent catalog is mostly older titles with no day one 1st party titles and very few day one 3rd party titles. Hell Premium wasn't even worth it before the increase given how poorly Sony's handled the release of PS1/PS2/PSP games.

3 years after the first two + Pre-Sequel came over, Borderlands 3 has just been confirmed to be heading to Switch (seemingly available physically as well!).

Releasing October. Because why not, ay?

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

Excellent, pretty much the only thing that was putting me off getting the game. Well, I would've got it anyway let's be honest but still. Welcome news

Don't get the hate toward the flower voices. It's such a trivial, benign thing I wouldn't have even thought twice about if ppl hadn't brought it up. Not to mention, I don't mind em. In fact I dare say I even like them. But hey, the option is there for ppl who don't so... no harm no foul.

Rayman DLC expansion is out for Mario Rabbids Spark of Hope! I had no idea it was releasing now. Last I heard it was TBD. Why is nobody talking about this, or playing this? I know Pikmin 4 just released not too long ago and some people are even still playing Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Zelda TotK, some still playing Trails Into Reverie, RainCode, Ghost Trick and Lara Croft Collection, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk got some great attention, Vampire Survivors rocketed up the Best-Sellers list, Sea of Stars is getting crazy praise, Red Dead Redemption is getting mad love as an immaculate Switch port of a legendary game... so ya, there's been quite a bit of top-shelf cuisine being served recently. But even so, this is the Mario Rabbids Rayman expansion! This deserves pomp and celebration! What's the consensus, btw? Any reviews drop, or at the very least, impressions?

Borderlands 3 was leaked a while back for Switch with that rating. Same for Batman Arkham- we got wind of that a while back. Then no news for a grip. People either forgot about them or assumed they weren't really coming. Yet here we are- Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Knight and Borderlands 3, all arriving on Switch next month. These are great, high quality 3rd party AAA that will make fantastic additions to the library.

Borderlands 3 will be less impactful just because we already have three different Borderlands games on Switch- all three are very high quality games, high quality Switch ports, and look/run great ad well as include gyro aiming. So, adding a 4th Borderlands game, while great, doesn't carry the same weight as Batman Arkham Trilogy.

But don't take that to mean I'm not excited or that it's not worth picking up. All the Borderlands games are fantastic and Borderlands 3 is the newest, freshest, most modern experience in the series. Definitely worth having on Switch. And now, the mainline series is complete! Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3. That's awesome.

And all 3 mainline Batman Arkham games as well? Switch really is catching up on top rated 3rd party games. Would be nice if they released Batman Arkham Origins as well- I know there's a big push for that game getting remastered within the diehard Batman Arkham community. But honestly, while it was a good game in its own right, it wasn't on the same level as the 3 mainline entries. It was fine, but it kinda copy-pasted from Arkham City, didn't really offer anything new or radically different. Basically, it was a stop-gap release.

Which... is fine. There's nothing inherently "wrong" with it. It's just bland by comparison. Kinda like a retread of the previous 2 games but with far less interesting villains and nothing substantially new to shake things up and make it feel fresh. I do think its a quality game, and absolutely deserving of a remaster. But I also think if you have the other 3, you'll probably be burned out by the time you finish them. If it offered new compelling gameplay that set it apart fron City, or really interesting villains and an intriguing plot, then ok, but diving into a 4th game that's more of a clone of City with generic villains... eh. Doesn't feel like a huge loss. But hey, maybe they'll release a remaster in the next year or two. It'll be a nice addition if they do. I'm just glad we're getting the main 3- the ones that really matter. And Origins is still on Wii U (no DLC but still), and SteamDeck. So there are still options, even if it's not on the more preferred Switch platform.

I guess each to their own but I'm just not a fan of it. Can't quite put my finger on it. I guess kinda see the talking flowers in the same way I do clunky narration in a movie. It's one thing if it's a signpost, a character you can interact with or even some text that comes up as you walk past. Something in-universe, firmly diegetic dialogue. But when it's effectively a voice over that prominent in the audio mix? It's almost like it clashes with my own inner monologue, I'm not a fan of it

It's kinda like when a game gives you the option for different localisations, like you can play it with Japanese voice overs and English subtitles or the localised English version. And you jump into the settings early on in the game and go "yeah, nah, I prefer the other way". The first trailer with the talking flowers was kinda like that for me. If they hadn't confirmed this I would've brought it anyway but I would've gone immediately into settings to see if there was an option to turn it off. Sometimes you just know what you don't like

im planning on doing a last minute preorder/buy of Mortal Kombat 12/1 for Nintendo Switch on walmart online next week. First I have rent and tv internet bill to pay first

Im curious if i ordered the game next week, the game would come earlier than the 14th or 19? days before those release dates

@XandertheWise You brave soul. Considering the port for MK 11 on Switch was not great, you should consider purchasing it for any other platform you may have. Especially since we needed Nintendo's shoddy online for versus play and for access to the Tower and Krypt. MK 1 is hype...just...not on Switch.

We're how far away from release and no Switch footage has leaked or been presented anywhere?

Kind of scary.

Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)

@Magician Im buying the game for my Nintendo Switch Lite.

as for my other current modern game systems I only have a Playstation 4, X Box One S, and my Nintendo Switch Lite

all the youtube videos etc of Mortal Kombat 12/1 its the same gameplay for the Switch version.

You have the money for me to go waste it on a Playstation 5? If not then you need to move along. Just saying

XandertheWise

Magician

@XandertheWise Eh, I see you're drinking NRS's marketing Kool-Aid. Very well, I will not dissuade you any further. It's your money.

@NeonPizza Firstly. No, I don't consider my collection to be a waste. Most of it is not shovelware, I only keep games in my collection that I feel I'll play again at some point down the road. And those games I don't keep...I trade them, and put those funds towards other games.

Secondly, I'm not sure how boutique publishers crept up into either the wasteful spending or the MK 1 conversation? Uh...alrighty then. Considering I'm knee-deep into the hobby, oftentimes I'm not caught having to pay second hand prices for anything. But scalpers are going to scalp. I don't like it any more than you do.

Thirdly, I'm glad you agree.

anyone know if Baten Kaitos I and II HD Collection is going to be a physical release or just digital on the eshop?

XandertheWise

@XandertheWise Japan and Southeast Asia are offering physical copies with English sub and text support. No English dub for either though I believe. Probably a cartridge size cost issue.

I'll agree with you on MK11 though. It looked rancid on Switch compared to the PS5 version

I was wondering what the hate of MK11 on Switch was for (I was always impressed by the smooth 60fps and good character graphics) and I saw that metacritic gave it a 78 reviewer score which is decent but a 40 player score. 🤪 The PlayStation 4 version got about the same; that's some impressive review bombing.

That said I bought MK11 for $10 on the eShop only for story mode, so I don't actually know how well the multiplayer part runs on Switch.
