He's saying what everyone says before Nintendo releases a new console. Being back in the race definitely doesn't make sense if we believe the slightly stronger than wii u euro gamer rumor. He's just building a bridge for potential support if it succeeds
The Eurogamer rumor wasn't "slightly stronger" than the Wii U. It was more like somewhere between Wii U and Xbox One, which is a pretty big difference.
@WebHead I tried to stop reading NX forums and rumors a little while back, but then Ishihara and Guillemot had to come out and start talking about the thing and I was drawn right back in..

Well to Nintendo Fall could mean like way late in the Fall. Y'all remember when Smash 3DS was supposed to launch in the "Summer" but it actually got slapped with an October release and Nintendo paid no mind to that?
In the UK at the moment XBone and PS4 have been on offer at some whopping discounts. To the casual observer this would be put down to clearing stock for new models being released...
... they are clearing stock, that bit is true...
...but the reason....
... is that the NX is coming, and it's going to obliterate the competition, so it's a case of sell now or sell never once the world gets eyes on NX.
