My day one purchases. Bold for the ones I’m really excited for and would still buy day one even if money was tight... oh who am I kidding, I’d still buy em all (Cause I actually really am excited for all of them. It hurts me leaving so many games without bold font). Except maybe Resident Evil 0 and 1. I’m really not all that excited for those two, I’m just buying them to move my complete collection from PS4 over to Switch. RE4, on the other hand... oh heck yes. Motion and HD handheld baby.

@EvilLucario Yeah. The combat starts out pretty basic, but as your gambit options open up, as the world exploration opens up, and as the monster hunting side-quests opened up, I recalled it getting pretty awesome. The end result is a Final Fantasy game that feels very little like other games in the series.
I'm curious to see how the altered license boards, which give characters in this game more of a specified class and role in combat than they had in the vanilla release, will change the feel of the gameplay more broadly. I've only heard positive things about the changes, though.
@JaxonH Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that DQXI is coming. Assuming it runs well when undocked, I'll most definitely be nabbing that at launch.
Tales of Vesperia isn't a midnight digital launch on Switch, went on the eshop and only NSMBU Deluxe has left preorder status of the 11th January releases. Could be different for the US but it looks like an afternoon release.
You know what though... I had thought both of them released today. I got off work and came home and fired up the Switch, only to find neither game was yet available. What a bummer.

I played Snowboarding: The Next Phase... ITS ACTUALLY A GOOD GAME! I enjoy it immensely! Worth picking up. Its not exactly deep, but its fun to play. Well worth the $10.
Finally finished World of Light. Gonna take a break from Smash and try to work through some of my Switch backlog.
Gonna start with finishing RE Revelations 2. Had gotten to the last chapter and then stopped because Pokemon Let's Go released. Good place to start I think as it's something smaller and I can avoid being unmotivated to get started on the backlog lol. Pokemon will probably be next as I didn't get to finish it before Smash released haha.
Will be playing through the Spyro trilogy on PS4 too.
After having finished Smash until the next timed exclusive spirit event or Piranha Plant releases (whichever comes first), I'm back to Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. While I'll be buying NSMBU Deluxe at launch, I think I'll set up a save file and then save it for once I've done the Termina Map. By then we may also know if the random reveals over the past few days were setting the stage for a bigger Direct or not.
For any who are interested, I’d like to share the ACG review for Dragon’s Dogma. While there have been a few reviews I have disagreed with him on in the past, I’d still say he’s on point far, far more than any other reviewer. And really, the only time I’ve ever actually disagreed with his reviews was with stuff like DOOM on Switch (he’s a big PC gamer and as such, has little tolerance for lower spec gaming), but that was more due to his intolerance toward performance compromise, not the quality of the game itself. When it comes to that, this guy is practically Miss Cleo.
Anyways, here’s the review. It’s well worth a watch.
TLDR
He ends with: I rate games on a Buy, Wait For Sale or Never Touch It Again rating scale. This game is absolutely. A Must. Buy. (see video for why)

No shame to admit it, I save scummed so hard during the entire mission. If my Lancer missed against the tank, reset. Mess up by letting a very careless (like SUPER careless) mistake kill a squad member, reset. Took me an entire HOUR TO BEAT. Man, that mission felt way more tense than anything I felt in FE7 and Awakening.
@JaxonH I don't need a review personally since my friend raved about Dragon's Dogma once I told him it was coming to Switch, and I trust his judgement. I'll probably not buy it Day 1 though, but that's mostly due to my backlog and not because of the quality of the game. I can't just keep buying games when I already have a mountain of games to play.
@EvilLucario Googled Chapter 7. Oh... It's that mission. I believe I got it on my first try with no one dead but the enemy vehicle was right next to my base when it ended. One more turn and I would have lost.
I made a big mistake at the beginning when they said you should aim at the walls and make them fall in front of the tank. I shot a wall that didn't function like the others and that made me question if I had read the thing correctly. I think I didn't shoot one of the walls because of that. Also, those beams...
@EvilLucario It's almost on a permanent sale around £12 on PS4 so I hope you can get it for a great price down the line on Switch. I also enjoyed it and bought the original followed by the Dark Arisen edition. I refuse to say I double dipped as those words make my stomach turn for some reason.
@EvilLucario There are a few missions in the game that really like to dash you against the stones. Ch. 7 is one of the first, in that regard. Although, as you've found, the incredibly forgiving save system saves on a lot of the frustration if you use it liberally.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
