@JaxonH My concern is that both EA and Take 2 did support the Switch during launch year, to various degrees, but neither seem to be saying anything about future support. Even Bethesda said that they will see. Obviously they could all be waiting for E3, but I am still a little worried.

@FragRed Bethesda said more then they will see. I believe they will be bringing all their future games day one if they can. Even if it's not possible I can see a Switch version of their newest game weeks or a month or 2 after the others. Doom 2 has been rumored and I can see this coming to the Switch as well.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Well I dont trust them. They have a good thing going and ruined it before. If they think there's still a market for a dedicated handheld device I can see them exploring it. They just better not cut into themselves when they have a good thing going.
@IceClimbers I wasnt sure if that was good or bad lol. Had to read to make sure it was good. Sounds low to me but if they're happy then that's a good thing.
@Spoony_Tech All of the major handheld franchises - Ace Attorney, Yokai Watch, Inazuma Eleven, Professor Layton, and the king itself, Pokemon - are all heading to Switch. There's no reason to think a separate handheld would come out.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw that video was a true successor to the 3DS especially as 3DS is even getting new 1st party games in 2019. E3 2018 will probably work the same as last year where Switch is covered in a spotlight event and new 3DS games are announced during Treehouse Live.
@Grumblevolcano All the stuff coming to 3DS is low budget remakes, a port, and Sushi Striker. 3rd party support is very clearly wrapping up and there's only a few localizations left.
@Grumblevolcano Keep in mind, Detective Pikachu first released in 2016 in Japan, it's not exactly new (well it's expanded but... not new). Luigi's Mansion was said to be ported in preparation for making Dark Moon, so that has to be a super cheap release, probably a stopgap for NLG while they work on... whatever it is they're doing next. And the Mario and Luigi title has barely any new assets, so that's likely a stopgap while they Alphadream prepares their move to HD.
With the support the 3DS is still receiving after 7 years and the comments from Kimishima that he foresees the Switch having a long lifespan I don't think we have anything to worry about. There will be an updated Switch in a year or 2 though, that much is certain.
Played some more Shovel Knight (and primarily Xenogears) today, and yeah it's pretty great. Not sure if I'll call it one of my favorites just yet, but it's damn fun. Perhaps the other two campaigns will push it over the top for me.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
I absolutely loved Shovel Knight, played through it twice on Wii U but just couldn't get into Plague or Specter the same way. Played a few level of each and didn't go back to them. I'll eventually get Treasure Trove on Switch and give them another go.
@Spoony_Tech I guess if you're thinking about AAA dev and uber popular indie titles, then 50,000 isn't that much, but I guess for a small studio, 50,00 is a nice amount.
