So I have a theory on why Hulu is on Switch and not Netflix.
I just signed up for Hulu just yesterday and since it was free got the service with the limited commercials. Netflix doesn't have any commercials. While watching Hulu today what did I see....a Switch commercial. So Hulu offers Nintendo a way to advertise and Netflix doesn't. Does this have anything to do with why NF isn't there I'm not sure but it looks like a viable reason

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@kobashi100 Can't say I'm bothered really. It'd have been a nice 'name' to have on the Switch - but I don't find the modern games to be all that enjoyable to play.
I got Rise of the Tomb Raider 'free' on Xbox 360 (with Games With Gold) - I appreciated the grittier storyline and the desexualisation of Lara (she always felt like a pretty tacky character before) ..but the gameplay was dull - it just felt like one of these 'trendy' new games (like Uncharted 4) where, whenever anything interesting happens, the game just goes in to auto-pilot - taking control away from you and playing a cinematic cutscene instead. Not for me!
Like I say, it'd have been a nice name to have on the Switch (the more the merrier, I say!) ..but - personal preference - it's not a game I'd play, so it's not a game I'll miss.
Seems like we're getting Nindies Direct (or Showcase as they worded it). Didn't expect one so soon after the last Direct.
I was waiting for Runner 3 release date but we already got it. Maybe some info on Flipping Death and Towerfall release date?
I've noticed something weird about the 5.0 patch. Previously the Switch, when docked with a wired eithernet connection would NOT activate the ethernet link unless it was actively downloading short of brief periodic checks.
Since 5.0 I've noticed sometimes the link is down, but other times for up to a few hours the link is active in full 1000mbps mode, and the Switch becomes notably warm in the dock as though not fully in sleep (it's not turning on...no green light on dock, screen is off.)
Not sure if this affects wifi, but at least wired, post 5.0, it spends considerable time while sleeping in the dock with a full ethernet link, and runs fairly warm (I don't think it's running the fan though.) Noticed it on more than one Switch+dock so it's definitely a firmware thing.
That's nerve wracking. Maybe you should unplug the adapter whenever you put it to sleep just to be safe, I never like when charging my device makes it hotter than it normally would be. Gets me paranoid
Yeah, I'm not sure of it's normal or if it's healthy for it (I know many people swear that audio amplifiers should be left ALWAYS on and hot....the warm-up-cool-down cycle hurts them more than leaving them on. That's why light bulbs break when you turn them on but rarely if you leave them running (or servers for that matter...)
I just can't tell if it's intended or if it's a bug. It might be necessary for the new Facebook functionality and such. Or it might be a bug....it doesn't seem to always do it. It doesn't get "hot" but there's warmth, and without the fan on it doesn't get evacuated efficiently. OTOH, the PS4 will do some online things on its own now and then and gets warm when it does without firing up the fans as well. And remember the searing griddle that was the Wii with Wii Connect/24 enabled?
I don't think it's overheating from charging, just from bringing the processor/USB controller up to a higher operating state to run the networking, so not a battery issue, just a "hmm, this is physically warmer than it should be when idle" kind of thing.
@Late Wow! Fantastic news! I remember thinking that the last Direct felt a little light on the Nindie front, so had a feeling that a Nindie Showcase would be next - wouldn't have imagined that we'd get one so soon though! Awesome!
@YummyHappyPills Yeah, I suppose the last Nindies Showcase had No More Heroes in it, which was a pretty big deal... I don't think there'll be any huge bombshells in this one, but we'll see!
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
We need Hollow Knight release date, and Spellbound confirmation, Wargroove release window, Pocket Rumble and Redout update from being lost in the void, and a few surprises.
Fyi, Nine Parchments is on sale super cheap. It's an incredible ARPG. Switch is getting alot of good ARPG's actually. With Nine Parchments, and Victor Vran coming, Titan Quest, Pillars of Eternity 2, and possibly even Diablo 3
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
I'd recommend Nine Parchments too, it's really fun. It sucks I encountered a game breaking bug that stopped us from getting to the last boss. Hated that.
@Spoony_Tech I was just thinking about Seasons of Heaven last night. I think it was the first Switch game to be announced? Either that or it was the first Switch game we saw footage of.
