@Snaplocket Well they could've caved in at a point where the remaining 3DS support had been at a position where it made more sense to complete than cancel.

@MegaTen Huh, I must've missed their glory era then. What were they then, compared to what they are now? I primarily come across them from their anime games (Dragonball Xenoverse 2 and One Piece Unlimited World Red lying next to me)

Octane

lol. They didn't even try...

@Octane I watched the video for that. My favorite part is halfway through when the lady randomly farts and apologizes to the audience. I kind of love that they didn't even consider reshooting.

I love when the knockoffs come out. It's weird seeing them in the lower-income grocery stores around my neighborhood

Scrummer

@Octane that's not an official Microsoft product, is it?

@Octane Wait, that game on it, it's Arena of Valour, isn't it? Still very curious how that'll control. But besides that, I wonder when Nintendo will notice that and probably be less than entertained about it

@Snaplocket @MegaTen Interesting, I've never really went for arcade cabinets myself, a combination of not being aware of them, not seeking them out, and they're nowhere near my village

@Octane
(Looked at Fake Switch )
Who make that Fake Switch ?!
How dare they are !!

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

Octane

@Snaplocket @Scrummer @Anti-Matter Not a Microsoft product. Some random Chinese knock-off.

It's not about the form factor. Just google Morphus X300, and you can argue Nintendo copied them, the concept is older than the Switch. It's about the button layout. A plus and minus button, that's just a literal rip-off. Capture button, home button, same volume buttons. They didn't even bother to fix the stand lol.

A tablet with attachable controllers is nothing new. What's new is the hybrid approach. The modular design is just best suited for that approach.

Skyrim is now available to preorder on the eshop. It has a 14.3GB filesize so if the whole physical game is on the Switch cart, it'll be a 16GB cart.

EDIT: DOOM is showing up as 13.6GB but not yet preorderable.

I hope then they don't skimp out and use the 8GB carts instead of the 16GB. We can only hope right?

I sure hope so. If anything they should use this as an oppurtunity to market to Nintendo fans, since we seem annoyed at the mandatory downloads. Just make a tweet: "Enjoy Skyrim on Nintendo Switch right out of the box! No download required to play the game".

Of course, that'd never happen since their own DOOM is requiring a separate download for multiplayer, and unless they become compression wizards, even a 32gb card wouldn't fit Wolfenstein 2, making them hypocrites in the future.

It's a mix of both but yeah. I'm going to take advantage of doom, wolfenstine, and hollow. I'm good after that. It will be Nintendo games and an indie here and there.

There's a demo for Heroes of Monkey Tavern. I'd never heard of the game, before I saw it last week on the eShop page with an image that said, there's a demo available. Turned out it was just the image that said that but the demo wasn't on the eShop yet. Now it is and I decided to download it out of curiosity. It's currently downloading it. I'm not really someone who cares about Switch icons but it seems like the developers behind Heroes of Monkey Tavern really tried hard to take the title for worst icon. Untitled

@Late I played it on PS4 a while back. Pretty janky as you may expect from the icon.

Skyrim's box art doesn't have the white banner with the warning. It should be all on the cart.

I am clinging to you and your logic for solace and belief everything will be alright. I need sweet little lies to comfort me.

I don't think Nintendo can really be accused with any credibility of copying anything when it comes to their controllers. They might nick some of their ideas and tech from elsewhere but they lead the way in introducing it into the mainstream and showing how it should be used.I was saying this to my mate the other day when he saw the Pro controller and said it's just copying the Xbox controller,I laughed at him before reminding him how much of his controller was shaped by Nintendo.

The D-pad and its position on the left
AB buttons
Start & Select
The ABXY buttons and diamond layout
L & R triggers
Wireless controllers- first Infrared with Satellaview then the radio tech of Wavebird
Analogue stick - although not the first to use it,that was Vectrex in the early 80's, Nintendo made it main stream
and changed 3D gaming forever
Z trigger
Rumble
Touch screen
Motion controls
Split controllers - used in VR

Who knows we may also see dual screen make a come back.

So other than dual analogue and form factor basically every modern controller has Nintendo written all over it. So yep, others might have come up with removable controllers on a tablet first but the inputs on those controllers, the fact that it's a handheld gaming machine and that there even is a strong industry in the first place for them to release it into is all thanks to Nintendo.

Uh. Nintendo improved upon it, but that's all.
