@BiasedSonyFan
Ok then. I guess I'll attend my original statement to say:

As far as reviews go for game playing devices the only reviews that matter to any degree are the ones for the games on those systems. To the extent that they matter at all given the subjective nature of art.

I think it's worth pointing out that the reviewer for Switch over at Ars Technica thinks that Splatton 2 is a port.

There's a guide for BotW up on My Nintendo. 25 page PDF for 10 gold coins. Well, it's on the Australian one at least.

Cool of them to shout Nintendo out. Definitely going to have a hard time deciding between H:ZD and BotW this weekend.

Sounds like a fun deal. Any description as to what's in it? Just a starter instructions or actual tips on food combinations and secret possibilities...? I'm also keeping a look out on whether or not there's switch eshop deals included from tomorrow onwards. Could be great.

This 25-page official mini-guide for the Legend of Zeldaâ„¢: Breath of the Wild game is just the thing to help you get started on this epic adventure. It contains the first chapter of The Complete Official Guide, from Piggyback Interactive Limited, and offers a sneak-peek of game features, including combat, landmarks, commands, and puzzle features.

The joy-con issue is fixed with the day 1 update, you must have the joy-cons connected to the main unit during the update though.

@Grumblevolcano Source please (I need to ram it in the face of some non-believers )

Actually it seems most are saying it's not fixed though not sure if the others are updating without the joy-cons attached.

Girlfriend is driving over for the weekend so I'll visit with her for the minute between 11:59 and 12:00.

You have to hand it to Nintendo. As sad and disappointing as it was for Breath of the Wild to get held back for Switch, they obviously knew they had something good on their hands and ultimately it's probably the right business decision to sacrifice the Wii U version in the way that they did.

I'm really happy for Anouma and Miyamoto especially, because it has seemed increasingly like the older staff at Nintendo have been branded a bit of a burden in many people's eyes, but Breath of the Wild would appear to be strong evidence that they can still oversee the development of the very greatest kind of games.

@gcunit Aonuma definitely, but wasn't it said at some point that Miyamoto took a bigger step back for this game?

Edit: found it. At least, he did about 3 years ago, part-way through development.

@gcunit Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Miyamoto the one who made Sticker Star and Color Splash so different from the first two Paper Mario's? If so, he really undid what was great about the Paper Mario series by taking how interesting the story and characters are down a few notches, and basically changing everything that made the first two such good games. I'm sure the old guys are great, but really only in a backseat position at this point IMO.

@BiasedSonyFan I just don't feel like taking a game series that had seemingly established it's identity and then totally turning it on it's head in favor of something a lot of people don't like nearly as much is a good idea, but you're right. They can do whatever they want with their games, and it's just my personal opinion, anyway. What do I know? (That wasn't meant to sound condescending, by the way)
