Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

Best buy has confirmed extra stock for walk ins, it's relieving to get confirmation. Gonna get my bf his switch and hopefully he'll enjoy snipperclips and fast rmx for launch day multiplayer games

LOL. I'm not sure this video is to be taken with any iota of seriousness. At all.

@TomJ I do not see a scenario how any normal functioning human being would be doing that unintentionally to a kickstand device...ever.

Nothing wrong with a bit of concern for a company that makes games/systems you enjoy, as long as you don't spend hours every day researching it or something. Still though, both companies are in good enough shape that worrying about it is kind of pointless.

There is quite a bit of a stir being caused by the idea of some games being "portable only" today. I don't know what anyone was expecting TBH. I believe Just Dance was already confirmed to be not compatible in handheld mode, as you'd expect. The game won't work with Joycons attached. I assume the same will be true for any game that uses motion controls in that way. And the reverse is going to be true for touch control focused games.

But to be honest I'm kinda hyped by the fact that they're allowing games with those kinds of restrictions. Because it means there are more options for games. It means the DS VC can exist on the Switch with no real restrictions. It means that Super Mario Maker can be ported without needing to have a clunky stage creator. It means that games like Pokemon Shuffle can exist on the Switch. I don't see any downsides.

Kind of proved my point from yesterday by looking at how many talked about the topic I brought up. Let's leave that topic behind and focus on the Switch.

I decided to preorder Zelda for Wii U. I'm afraid I'll get spoiled if I don't get it asap. I have a week long vacation starting from the day of release so it's great timing for me. I won't be getting a Switch right away but couple of my friends will so I'll get to try it out soon as well.

@BiasedSonyFan I don't find it any more pointless than my Dad and brother spending hours debating sports, about who got sold to what team, and what not. Or how Dad has a large book dedicated just to baseball stadiums. Baseball stadiums! Do you find that obsession any healthier?

GAME seems to be cancelling Switch preorders.

I've actually just cancelled by pre-order with them yesterday as I found a Neon Switch for £260 with a code.

It's Tuesday morning. Oh. My. Goodness.

Why is Saturday taking so long to get here?

...UPS shows up late Friday evening so I might as well as wait for Saturday.

Don't know if this was already posted, but Arekkz Gaming did a test of the Switch tablet's battery life while actively playing BotW (instead of letting it sit like that one video). With wifi turned on and brightness at 75%, he got 3 hours and 2 minutes of playtime on the tablet.

Apparently the Switch version of Stardew Valley will have local multiplayer.

Watched the Nindie event. Got really surprised by the number of exclusives. There were some games i am really interested in. Most of all Wargroove, the Escapists one, Steamworld Dig 2 and Stardew Valley (the most). Can't wait for Switch to come on March 3rd!!! AAAAAHHH!!!

Now the Switch just needs Death Road to Canada, even though I already have it on PC. lol
Seriously though, the game has a bunch of Nintendo references, like a Link character...why isn't this game on a Nintendo system yet?! >.<

I doubt the WHO organisation will be too concerned. "People are interested in things? Oh no! We need an antidote!"

Also there have been instances of platform holders finances impacting on support for a machine (sad music plays over video of the Dreamcast and Neo Geo Pocket Colour).

Really impressed with how much effort Nintendo are putting into getting indie support. So many games, and some timed exclusives and console exclusives. Quality.

I really wouldn't be that susprised if Nintendo had planted that story in The Sun. If not they won't be that disappointed. Good publicity aimed at a very mainstream audience.
