@CTmatic Going by the trailer, it sure looks decent enough:
Doesn't look like it's very fast-paced, though. I'd personally stick to FAST RMX for now, but I'd still be interested to know from your personal findings how it will stack up against that particular game.

I totally forgot until now. So I just redownloaded this game, I bought it a long time ago but deleted it. I vaguely remember the gameplay being punishing, and not necessarily a fair punishing. More unbalanced. I just had deja vu, an was like oh yeah I did try this. Lol.
How is Fast RMX? Is it THAT great. I’ve heard it’s the best arcade racer on Switch a lot. I see it’s on sale now to. Should I bite? @ThanosReXXX
@CTmatic I'd say definitely. As a general rule, you can't go wrong with any of Shin'en's games, unless of course a certain type of game doesn't interest you, but if you're looking for something to scratch that F-Zero itch, then look no further than FAST RMX. Not only does it look fantastic, it's also blisteringly fast and exciting. It already looked quite good on the Wii U, and this deluxe edition of the same game improved upon it in several ways:

@CTmatic I honestly don't know, so you may have to look that up. I got the physical version on the Wii U, but only later in its life cycle. On that console as well, it was only available in digital form, initially. So, you could wait it out, to see if the Switch version might also become a physical one, or go for the digital one now, especially seeing as it's now available at a discounted price.

@CTmatic You're welcome. Enjoy the ride.
Be sure to also download the update and all the free DLC, although the former will probably happen automatically, since digital games do usually check which version is installed.

Yeah I always check “update software via internet” for every game I install. So I should be good to go but I’ll double check and go on the eShop now before I start.
I’m pretty OCD with my gaming. I prefer to have every bit downloaded prior to starting it. @ThanosReXXX
@CTmatic I suspect that the DLC will be downloaded from within the game, or maybe it's also featured in the eShop, but I guess you'll find out soon enough. Be sure to let me know your findings, both about FAST RMX and Void Space Racing.
I actually remembered, because of your post, that I've also been tempted by it in the eShop, but I never bought it, due to it looking so slow, especially compared to FAST RMX and some other racers, but I might still give it a go anyways, if it has some redeeming qualities after all...

1. Yeah the DLC is included in the download because nothing shows on the eShop.
2. Yup, and do not get Void Racing. I think I got it very very cheap on sale but I remember getting mad saying WTF at the controls. Lol. If you read the review you will see why. It’s hard and rewarding, more so just lucky no good hard. IMO.
Lastly, Fast RMX rocks. Playing it now. @ThanosReXXX
@CTmatic Good to know about VSR. I was starting to doubt again, because although it has a 66% Metacritic rating, it got an 8 out of 10 from Nintendo Life, so there was that to consider. I guess I'll just keep it on the maybe someday list, then...
EDIT:
Glad you like FAST RMX. I can now rest safely in the knowledge that I've not made a bad recommendation.
It’s actually exactly what I thought it was. It’s verbatim to the PS4 exclusive sci-fi racer. I can’t think of the name but I know it...I had it on my PS4 a long time ago... I’ll probably remember right after posting this. 😳 @ThanosReXXX
@CTmatic Yeah, it does add something to the mix, for sure. Especially on later levels, it'll be the only difference between coming in first (edit: or second or third), or suffering an ignominious defeat...
Yeah. This game is hard, but balanced. I won I won 1st place in my first novice cup, but had a couple 2nd places. Maybe it’s just me assuming 1st place is in the bag from Mario Kart on 50CC. @ThanosReXXX
@CTmatic Congrats. You'll find, like in almost any racer, that some rubber-banding is going on, but if it is still the same as in the Wii U version, then I'd say it's a tough but fair game, and the rubber-banding isn't overbearing, but rather more subtle. Having said that, you WILL need to slowly but surely start to perfect your lane/color switches and cornering, as well as tipping or raising the nose of your vehicle, when making jumps or drop downs, otherwise you'll soon find yourself stuck on a certain track or championship.
But as the old saying goes: practice makes perfect, so keep at it, and you'll ultimately make enough progress to still make it entertaining enough to keep playing. Well, at least: that's how I've personally experienced it.
