Enjoy it..? Yes I think that should be your main objective. And then decide on whether or not your enjoyment will be sustainable over the long term and worth the initial (rumoured) £200-250 entry fee for the system.
Have fun! Probably there will be queues, and more than anyone will be around with their 3DS for Streetpass if you want to bring yours.
Don't forget to tell us your opinion of the system after the event, though!
Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll be ready for queues
@IntoxicatedDuck Yeah this was from the email competition. Looks like all the winners have been informed - a friend of mine got one too. I guess they might select more people if they get some people not responding.
I'm also going. And since a friend is allowed to come with you, it'd be double the 500. Across the four sessions, that's about 250.
What session are those who have registered going to? Saturday morning for me.

@BLP_Software Strange...I've sent them an email just to check. It would be quite a bummer to turn up and find out my booking didn't go through xD (although I have no confirmation email to tell me where to actually go!)
I booked my place from my phone so I'm concerned something didn't go through! What a shame if that's the case! I clearly remember selection my slot and choosing to bring a plus one.
I got a confirmation page with all the details, which I printed fortunately. I've never had a confirmation email from them though. They also haven't replied to my emails to enquiries.
I've been on the list since the Pokemon Midnight Launch party (November 22nd). Sadly I could not go to that as I was running the Launch party for a GAME store. Which to be fair was very well received and I had a great time. I know for sure I will be throwing one heck of a party for the Switch release
I am on the Saturday session which is 9am-1pm. It does mean I have to wake up early mind you. Grrr....
In terms of what to expect, we get a 4 hour session. I have heard there are plenty of Switches around for people to use. I think the plan is that the reduce the amount of waiting time as much as realistically possible
In terms of the games being demo'd, I have seen a good chunk of the list (I won't spoil what I know) but there is already a lot of variety. Some of them has been publicly confirmed to exist, some of them are not. I would say there is something for everyone and it will be a great time.
I would definitely bring a 3DS to help ease any potential waiting times.
What to expect? From what I know about the event, the console and the games, HYPE. Just HYPE. There is a lot of great things on the way. This should be a great year for Nintendo ^_^
