I wonder why they had Link go asleep for 100 years rather than letting him die and just respawning/reincarnate? Maybe Ganon knows where the respawn point in the game is.
The same reason that OoT Link had to sleep 7 years to wield the master sword while other incarnations didn't.
At least that's efficient, for a new reincarnated Link to grow up would take 20ish years, this shaves 13 off it. In Botw you could of had 4-5 Links save the day and save the Hyrule folks decades of suffering if he wasn't so selfish and hid in the bath.
WW Link was about 12. He didn't have to wait 5 years
It's debatable, but if the tradition followed in Outset says that kids wear the hero's clothes when they reach the same age as the hero, and that they're now officially men, then that would mean he should be about as old as adult Link in OoT.
Yes, its quite a big book. I agree on that. So you have paid more then 100 Euro's for a book in the past?! Well, each his own. For me it would be faaaar to expensive!
I wonder if the ending blow is in Breath of the Wild. It could trigger off of a low health percentage for ground-based enemies, or just from the witch time bits. Reddit people have noted that, when Link is given the option, flurry rush is only one of the four face buttons that flash onscreen.
As for the endings: I think one of the endings you get when you beat Ganon bare-bones, while the other you get when you are fully powered-up and then beat Ganon. As for heart-containers: They seem to be out, sadly. You have to increase your hearts with food, potions and certain gear. May not be permanent benefits. The way I see it, this is more of a survival game. The whole of nature is against you. The machines are against you too! The title Breath of the wild seems very apropiate.
As for the story: From what I can tell it seems both Link and Zelda try to stop Ganon but fail miserably. The Guardians destroy Hyrule instead of protecting it. The master sword gets hugely damaged. Link dies and gets resurrected 100 years later to set things right.
As for dungeon-bosses: Maybe we have to take that very literally. Some people say the machine-bosses contain dungeons, or the dungeons themselves turn into bosses. Sounds bonkers, but then we have that person in Eartbound who wanted to become a dungeon (and he succeeded), lol!
Aonuma's "the game can't be beaten 100%" quote may be about the loot. There seems to be a big loot system with lots of different weapons and cloths, maybe all with their own statistics. Also, if you do certain sidequests that lead to certain characters and places, other sidequests may get locked off. Hopefully not, but it is possible. If this happens, I hope there are different save-slots and manual saving, but that probably won't happen.
I would like to blow a Bokoblin off of a cliff with the korok leaf, jump off after him, use the bow-let time to hit him with a bomb arrow midair, and fall through the explosion's cinder cloud down onto Link's awaiting horse.
And another random thought, but I can't wait to see players in heavy plate armor jump off of a cliff and press the paraglider button like usual, only to plummet straight down like a rock. Except unlike the Fallout power armor hero drop, Link ain't getting up from that one. No spoilers here, just a hazardous guess

@Henmii I'm pretty sure heart containers are in the game. Recent footage has shown Link with 17 hearts (and they are permanent). It is thought, but not confirmed, that there is a total of 30 hearts (which could mean a lot of heart containers). Considering some enemies have been shown to wipe off 8 hearts with one hit I think we'll be needing them.
@Maxz It's a late reply but thanks for the translation explanation regarding Aonuma's interview video. Apologies for not replying sooner (life's been a bit hectic recently).
Do we still have no idea what the new Amiibo do yet? I was hoping the 30th anniversary ones were gonna be skins for Link rather the barrels coming out of no where.
@jump It's still unknown but there's still 19 days left. I've been thinking for awhile now that Nintendo may have a Direct next week which includes lots of important Switch details left out like the online service, VC, eshop, etc. and announce what the amiibo do then.
So, do we know what the purpose of travelling across the land and meeting the secondary characters? If not, I have a theory, but I'm not sure if this is either already obvious to everyone or spoiled by GameInformer. I'm gonna say it anyway, cuz dang it, it's fun to make theories!
So, it's been confirmed that you can tackle Calamity Ganon at any time, and that travelling the world is optional. I previously came to the conclusion that traveling the world before CG, other than grabbing a few weapons and heart containers, was mainly for experiencing the game's optional story. But I've come to realize that it's more likely that the entire game experience is centered around making the impossible fight with Calamity Ganon easier and easier. Naturally this means that things like meeting these characters, completing these so-called dungeons, fighting these dungeon bosses, and encountering these mega-guardians have some sort of direct correlation to the final fight with Calamity Ganon.
Anyway, my theory is that the whole point of visiting these 4 tribes all across Hyrule is to gain the favor of each of these four characters (the goron, the falco guy, the zora lady, and the gerudo), so that they will join you in the fight against Calamity Ganon and greatly increase your chances. It seems to really fit the structure of the game that Nintendo seems to be employing.
Sorry if this is old news, or if someone has already come up with this theory.

He gave an interview about that and said he thought it was strange that it would only be Link fighting and no other heroes would be trying to save the day or something along those lines.
