Here's something that I thought about when it comes to PacMan Vs that's on the Switch Namco Museum...
There's no download play on the Switch, yet...
So when it comes to playing PacMan Vs on the Switch, do we need to have two Switch consoles and two copies of the game to play this!? Each Console is £280, and each game is going to be £30, so that's a whopping £620 in total funds to play rounds of PacMan VS on the Switch!
Either Nintendo is going to include a Download Play function as an update on Friday, or PacMan Vs is going to suck miserably on the Switch! Thinking about it though, Namco could release a free download app that just has the PacMan part of PacMan Vs so that it doesn't need another game, or the Switch game can communicate with a DS/3DS to play the PacMan part of the game via Download play. Then again, I'm wishful thinking here! I really hope it's not going to be a case of purchasing two copies of the game to make PacMan Vs work!
I don't think that Pacman VS will support Download Play. From last I heard, there will be a free app that will allow users to play Pacman VS with another Switch console without necessitating additional copies of the game. So, yes, it is playable with only one full copy of the game, but it won't work in the same manner as DS/3DS games where Download Play functionality is available "out of the box", so to speak.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
Will we be able to play games like PacMan, Galaga, Tower of Druaga and Dig Dug in a vertical portrait fashion by turning the Switch 90 degrees in Tabletop mode? Yes, A Hori Stand will be needed to do this!
