@WoomyNNYes No prob! I use DekuDeals to track Switch game prices, but it appears they track PS and Xbox too. It's still worth shopping around a bit since they don't always catch everything, but it has definitely saved me a few bucks.

The Elder Scolls V: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition has been rated for Switch in Taiwan.

LOL!

Here we go again. And of course, if there's a physical release over here in Murica, I'll probably purchase yet another copy of the game. It's one of my top five all-time favorite games, so I gotta simp.

I’m hoping that there will be upgrade dlc so I don’t have to buy the whole game again.

The Skyrim copy that comes with the Dawnguard, Hearthfire & Dragonborn; does that include everything, or does it lack the 'Anniversary Edition' content and just sticks to the 3 DLCs??

I recently bought the Anniversary Edition update for the game (which I owned as a physical) but when I boot it up, it says that the Anniversary Edition is available to purchase even though it’s downloaded. Is this normal?

WoomyNNYes

@FragRed So you bought the anniversary update via eshop? Have you changed eshop regions (the region selected on your nintendo account)? Nintendo says dlc and base game's region's must match.

@WoomyNNYes The physical copy I own is the U.K. edition and I only have a U.K. eShop account.

Watched the Oblivion Remastered reveal presentation yesterday. Immediately got the itch to fire up the Switch port of Skyrim again. Still great. Still a good port of the best selling Elder Scrolls game.

I suppose we'll be getting news on that Fallout 3 remaster...fairly soon?

The Elder Scrolls VI in 2028...maybe? Hopefully Bethesda will have learned their lesson from Starfield? Loading...loading...loading...loading...with some loading. If they're still using Creation Engine, probably zero lessons will have been learned.

So it seems the Switch port is a little more busted than I remember. Seems that if a dragon spawns you either defeat it or you risk your game freezing. Every time I disregarded a dragon, ignoring it and walked away, I'd either crash or lockup the console. Sheesh. The easy answer to just avoid doing the main campaign.

Which means not doing the golden claw quest to the Barrow near the beginning of the game. Or at least, if you're going into the Barrow, be sure not to take the Dragon tablet that's on the boss mob at the end of the dungeon. That'll result in you never being able to craft dragon gear, but at least there's still a lot of game to experience outside of the main story. Kind of sucks for casual gamers who'll run into crashes constantly and stop playing the game all together.

@Magician
finished 2 times on Switch for a total of 400 hours of gameplay without any problems except some occasional crashes....absolutely enjoyable, the problem you report is very strange.

@GeneralFulbright

Were those hours played before or after the Anniversary update?

This time I fought a dragon mask owner and had the game crash again.

After.
I directly purchased the Anniversary edition.
Finished the second run yesterday (200 hours) without any major problems.

@GeneralFulbright

Hmm, curious.

I've had five crashes to dashboard and one hard freeze over the past week (about 35 hours of playing).

I didn't purchase the Anniversary upgrade.

@Magician
yes, sometimes happens strange problems.
In 200 hours I had less than ten crashes.
if it can help, I play on system memory and I keep no more than 2 saves.
But, for example, i can't play kingdom come deliverance, which after about 40 hours, It crashes every time I open the map, where others have finished It on Switch without problems.

@GeneralFulbright That's a nice run. What race did you play as?

@Magician that's just how Elder Scolls treats the novice players. Through trial and error, they learn to operate this beutiful, slightly malfunctioning machine Not gonna lie, if I had to travel a lot, some Elder Scrolls game would be terrific, but for me, the PC version is more than enough.

@Princess_Lilly

I'm mildly offended. I have over 500 hours in Skyrim. Over 1,000 hours across the series. 2,000+ hours across the franchise (which includes ESO).

I am intermediate at the very least.
