Topic: Temtem

Hello,
Yesterday game project at Kickstarter known as Temtem reached it's stretch goal for Nintendo Switch.
So wanted make thread for this game discussion. As well wanted to know if anyone else excited for this "Pokémon a like" type of game.

So this is available only online from what I am reading but what happens when you have no Wifi? So I like both offline play and standalone but since this is like only Online can be a hard battle to support.

I was interested with TemTem until i heard it will be Full Online and No Retail release, it turned off my interest.
Sure, it still looked interesting and colorful but i expect Offline gameplay and Physical release.

If it doesn't say need to be online I would be more interested :/

@SwitchForce @Anti-Matter @darkfenrir never heard of MMORPG being a offline game. xD

@SViper Well I guess I kinda just look at it at the other side xD I thought the MMORPG as a side dish so... yeah.

The game still looks good don't get me wrong, just that always online isn't something I really enjoy

PS I always wanted main Pokémon game where you play with others, so that's why I enjoyed Pokémon World Online and Pokémon 3D, enjoying Pokémon Revolution Online, and can't wait for PokéOne to come out.

@SViper Ahh, have fun then This looks like it'll be great, and the mount sounds good (Even though too bad it'll be put on the latter part of the game)

I'll be kinda following this game a little bit whenever I remember though! It's one of the sounds good in Kickstarter for sure XD

Forget the expansions for Sword and Shield.

I'm more interested in this MMO coming to Switch later this year.

I thought about it, since Pokemon was going stale for me...but, no...online only? Seriously? screw that, I'll just stick with Monster Hunter Stories on the 3DS. >_>

Legitimate question: How come this game isn't getting nearly as much flak for being a clone as the BotW clone or the Cuphead clone? I've seen gameplay of this and it is unashamedly copying Pokemon. I personally don't have a problem with clone games as long as they aren't direct reskins (obviously infringing on copyright) but it just seems weird to me that nobody is mad at this game for doing the same thing other clones are doing.

@EOTW I do think it's a blatant copy. However I think people are actually looking for a Pokémon game that isn't Pokémon because quite a few weren't happy with the recent entries. There's a reason why fanmade Pokémon games (hacks or whatever the terminology is) are so popular.

@Octane Very true. I'm among the people who weren't happy with the recent entries. While this game looks promising, I don't think it's going to be the Pokemon replacement some people are hoping for. As a rule of thumb, you can never do better than the original if all you are doing is trying to copy what made it successful. There are outliers though. Freedom Planet comes to mind; that was a blatant Sonic ripoff but was also an incredible game. I'm gonna keep an eye on this one, but will wait for reviews before I consider purchasing.

The Cuphead clone was literally ripping off assets from Cuphead, it's not just visuals. The BoTW clone...I dunno, I don't really call it a clone. Combat is different, it's anime, stuff like that. As for this game, I dunno...but the monster capturing and training thing has been done plenty of times before. I played one on the Gameboy involving capturing robots. Yeah I'm not joking, lol

Hell, even Monster Hunter did it, wished they would give that game a sequel...or Switch port or something. Because I enjoy that one a lot. lol
