Just a warning, I'd exercise caution when browsing Play-Asia at the moment. They're taking preorders for a lot of games mentioned at the E3 Direct that are digital-only, with no confirmed physical release. Final Fantasy VIII, Empire of Sin, Contra Anniversary Collection, Circuit Superstars, Minecraft Dungeons, Romancing Saga 3, etc. So buyer beware.
First Press Games will be releasing the following:
#1 A HOLE NEW WORLD, #2 SHADOW BUG, #3 CASTLE OF HEARTS
First Press's messaging is a little unclear. Their website mentions that, like Super Rare, these games will be sold in a triple pack limited to 500 pieces. Does that mean that none of these will be sold individually? If so, then I wish good luck to whomever is interested, because this'll sell through in under a minute.
Edit: Alright further down to the fine print. 3000 standard editions per game (500 specifically for the triple pack) plus another 1000 for the limited edition, which has a collectors box with additional merchandise a la Strictly Limited. https://firstpressgames.com/collections/collection/products/n...
That's a tough call. Save on shipping with three standard editions a once? Or the uber-collectible LE + shipping per release? 120 Euro vs 240 Euro...roughly, just guessing. Personally, I feel that if the games were of a higher caliber I'd spring for the LEs. Unfortunately, each of these games are average at best, so I'm content with the standard edition.
what a crap line up of games from first press. Hole in the sky looks ok but I would rather wait for Celeste. And after Warned Collectors going awol I no longer trust these new boutiques. I would feel like a real sucker if I got caught in that hype again cause it just feels like there are trying to milk us.
It depends on your perspective I suppose. I feel as though it's good to experience some 5/10 and 6/10 games every once in a while. It makes me appreciate the better received games all the more. And on top of that, even though First Press's initial lineup of games isn't great, they're still made by people who have more talent and desire than I have in regards to game design.
I respect that effort and support it whenever possible.
P.S. - Torchlight II coming physically to Switch thanks to Perfect World and Panic Button.
Has anyone seen if the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be 100% physical outside of NA? Looks like the box art for the NA version states there is a download component.
