Elsie is getting a retail release in Europe.

And Demon Slayer 2 ESRB box art has been spotted online. Loved the first game so I'll be on that.

@Magician And a mandatory download to make the physical pointless. Another reason NOT to buy it

Similar to Tony Hawk 1 + 2, I believe the download is the multiplayer portion only.

@Magician
Nice! I read the Sorry We’re Closed review here yesterday and I wondered if a physical was announced. It would be the most avant garde thing I’ve played since Sayonara Wild Hearts and I worry I’m not cool enough for such a game, but I may just pick it up!

Serenity Forge have opted Centum.

Limited Run and Clear River are bringing Under Defeat to the west physically.

Red Art have opted Bloody Rally Show. I'm still fond of RAG. Although they aren't one of the top boutique publishers, at least they're consistent. Reliable in their delivery of product in a timely manner.

Considering that a number of their games get an ESRB release, I am guilty of only browsing their store during a holiday sale.

Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 10 and LiveStream 1 + 2 double pack have been listed online.

I'm a sucker for those Kemco collections, even though I'm mildly annoyed by how their games are packaged multiple times in them. Been a fan of Kemco-published games since Shadowgate and Deja Vu on the NES.

LRG are opening pre-orders for Salt and Sacrifice today, as well as a dual pack that includes the original Salt and Sanctuary.

Salt and Sanctuary was previously released physically by Leadman Games, who also published Guacamelee One-Two Punch collection, and basically disappeared in 2020.

LRG is also doing another "Vault" release of old stock today, and importantly the sought-after "The House in Fata Morgana" is among them.

I'll be trying to secure a copy when I believe it opens at 2pm UK time (due to the daylight savings time discrepency between UK and US right now).
Edit: 4pm UK time, 9am pacific, 12pm eastern. When daylight savings align, it'll be 5pm again.
LRG's Friday stuff is usually at 3pm UK time.

Salt and Sanctuary is one of those uncommon Switch physical releases, hovering around $70 on pricecharting. Nice to see it get a reprint. Salt and Sacrifice was not as well received as the first game. It attempted to infuse Monster Hunter-like aspects, like Dragon Marked for Death.

It's also worth pointing out that LRG aren't selling Salt and Sanctuary as standalone, it's only available in the dual pack.
I wonder if they weren't able to sell it standalone, similar to what happened with Axiom Verge 1+2 (which is also in the LR Vault drop today).

The House of Fata Morgana predictably sold out very quickly, in about 2 minutes.
Luckily I was able to secure a copy for myself, and also my brother.
Happy to check that one off my list.

Both Under defeat and Salt and Sacrifice are games that I’m really looking forward too. But does anyone know if these games will be available at retail at some point? I understand that Clear River Games is somehow connected to LRG in Europe, and perhaps will publish both of these games this year in the E.U.?

@Golgafinkle
Salt and Sacrifice is a numbered release (Switch #281 / PS4 #583), whilst the dual pack that includes Salt and Sanctuary, it's unclear if that one is numbered but it's not available separately.

LRG numbered releases tend to not be the same distribution releases that Clear River Games publish in Europe, so I'm not sure we're going to see Salt and Sanctuary/Sacrifice get EU releases.
Distribution release pre-orders usually open on Tuesdays, whilst LRG numbered releases usually open on Fridays.

Under Defeat, that's definitely going to see an EU Pegi release under Clear River Games and will probably show up on Amazon, like we recently saw for titles like Tetris Forever, Omega 6 The Triangle Stars, Snow Bros. 2 Special, etc.

@RupeeClock

Thanks! Appreciate it.

Then I’ll have to make up my mind on whether to order Salt and Sacrifice from LRG or not. I would be very dissapointed to miss out on a physical release. Probably not worth taking any chanses by hoping for a PEGI-release then.

You'll have until April 20th (Easter Sunday) to order Salt and Sacrifice anyway, that's when LRG closes their pre-orders.
In the event that there isn't a PEGI release and you miss that ESRB release initial pre-order window, you can keep an eye on other sites to buy manufactured stock when it's available.
Videogamesplus.ca is a Canadian retailer that sells stock of LRG releases as they arrive, whilst Bazaar-Bazaar has UK and EU based sites that will also ship imported stock domestically (the prices reflect that). They're good sites for second-chances at LRG releases.
