I've noticed sometimes AA will be really jagged and it has nothing to do with lighting or area I'm in. Sometimes when playing In docked mode I swear the textures, AA, Filtering and distance are all running in docked mode. I don't know if it's a mess up in Zeldas coding or the firmware, there aren't enough games out to compare but I believe it would be a firmware update. The reason I'm posting this is because I have been playing for an hour after playing in undocked mode, docked it and it looks great I don't even see jaggies like usual. Mind you, I am playing on a PC monitor. Anyone else feel like they have had this issue?
You can change settings from automatic to 1080p and it will always output that resolution
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced

Well, not exactly. That setting is only telling the Switch that your TV supports up to 1080p. Or that you prefer 1080p whenever possible. The resolution will be whatever the game is running in. Zelda for example will be 900p.
@DEZn00ts I think it has to do with the 900p resolution and lack of AA in most Nintendo games. It should look better in handheld mode, since the pixel mapping is perfect.
@Lethal
Well I know it renders in 900p, but I was under the impression it still up scaled the output resolution to 1080p. But in the scenario the output was less than 1080p, yes, it would just output the highest up to 1080p.
But his issue sounds like he may just have it on automatic and it's not properly detecting the TV's ability to display 1080p. Maybe it's something else, but that is definitely the first thing I'd be checking. Then the TV settings

The game is outputting in 900p no matter what when docked. Your TV may be able to upscale the game on it's own, but the game is 900p docked.
@Octane I THOUGHT that was it, but I only notice it after I have not turned my system off for a while, like it gets stuck in docked mode... less assets on screen, more pop in more jaggies... Maybe it's because I play on PC but I think it just needs a firmware update for a few hiccups. I usually power off my system ( not sleep) at night or when not going to play.
@DEZn00ts I don't think the undocked mode removes any of the assets or lowers the draw distance. The only difference is the resolution as far as I'm aware.
Maybe is has something to do with the coding of the game and how many assets I've actually seen (In game) and me not being able to notice it in handheld mode. @Octane Because I swear I am not bullpooping, sometimes in docked mode it looks a LOT better then other times then, I see all types of jaggies and poop later the grass is horrible. It's usually just grass and cluttered spaces I notice it in. Like the game is downscaling or some poop.
@JaxonH Playing on a PC monitor I have never had any issues with and I turned off automatic when I got the system. I always look at my settings lol. Oh and the game does Upscale to 1080p. If it says 1080p when you play, it's upscaling it.

That is not true either. The TV will not show you an odd resolution. It is showing you 1080p even though the game is 900p. My TV will show a display of 480, 720, 1080, and 2160. It will not show me anything other than those numbers. Digital Foundry did the pixel count test on the game. It is 900p and nothing more.
I do not think the Switch has any sort of upscaling features.
@Joeynator3000 Thanks, I accidentally clicked on ignore and just spent 10 minutes on my phone trying to figure out how to undo it...
@DEZn00ts Maybe there's something wrong with your TV settings. Anyway, jaggies should be there since the game is 900p and gets stretched to 1080p on your monitor, and there little to no AA in BOTW.
Lol. I'm used to people being hypocritical and taking things out on me. I can see myself getting banned because of a guy like this. I said bull(other word for poop) lol.
