I heard that you can trade in a Wii U for $100 off of a Nintendo switch, does that apply to Switch Lite too? Aswell as refurbished Switch Lite, or refurbished Switch? I have a Wii U mint condition, and I don’t use it anymore, so I was hoping to trade it in a switch of some kind, but a new switch is a bit expensive, would it apply to switch lite? Is this offer even valid anymore? I live in Canada
I would think it depends on the store you're trading it to.
That being said, I'm of the opinion that all of us Wii U owners should hold onto them. I have a feeling that system is gonna be worth bigger bucks some day.
You’d probably do better with selling that Wii U on ebay, given that the console rose to a higher price on there, due to collectors wanting it for their collections.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
You would probably be better off conntacting a store like Gamestop to see what their traded in deals are for a Wii U. Probably get a better answer then here anyway.
@SwitchForce
It's not gonna be a "goldmine," (almost no consoles are) but facts are facts: not too many of them were made, relative to most other consoles, historically.
It's going to take decades, but some form of Wii U "scarcity" (again, relatively speaking) will certainly arise and contribute to higher asking prices.
In the long run I believe you'd be better off financially by keeping the Wii U. There are "only" 13 million or so in the wild, and collectors are snatching them up. Someday you'll be able to sell one for the cost of two current consoles.
@Burning_Spear
Yea, it's not gonna be anything crazy, but I can see a Wii U going for 600-800 bucks in 10 years or so. No idea if the deluxe or regular versions are more scarce.
@rallydefault I've heard from collectors that the white "regular" version is far more scarce. I have one of each plus two of the Zelda editions. They're going to put my cat through obedience school!
