Hi, anybody know if I buy a physical switch game from Japan will it be supporting english language? Specifically Fifa 18. I bought Zelda from Bic Camera and i could play it in english but then when i bought splatoon 2 it only supports Japanese language. I tried checking the box but can't find anything related to the language support.

It will vary from game to game. Most games should include an English option, except for Japanese exclusives.

Checking the Japanese eShop page is the easiest way to find out which languages are supported. Many Japanese version games will include English on the cartridge in case of a wider Asian release (e.g. China, Singapore etc.), but may not include European languages. 日本語 (Nihingo) means Japanese language and 英語 (Eigo) means English language, so just keep that in mind should you check the Japanese eShop in future. Another way to check is to see if the English language eShop specifies Japanese as a supported language in any retail game. If not, then Japanese must be restricted to the Japanese release of the game (that may or may not include English on the cartridge).

Unfortunately, Splatoon 2 only includes Japanese on the cartridge in the Japanese release.

The Western edition of Fifa 18 will include Japanese on the cartridge, so I assume that the same cartridge will be used in the Japanese release, so you should be able to buy Fifa 18 without any worries.

Fire Emblem Warriors however, is restricted to Japanese only for its Japanese release.

I see. I was wondering why i saw physical copies of monster hunter in the Japanese stores but not on the australian eShop. Thanks for the info! Will keep in mind to check the eShop to see whether it's restricted to Japanese only or not in the future.
