Hi,
I just got a Nintendo switch but Super Mario Bros is not saving after castles completed and I"m not sure why - wondered if anyone can help? Completed both castles in the 1st level and confirmed save when pop up box appeared but it will only let me start again from Yoshi Hill (after 1st castle halfway through level 1). Have tried several times with same result - any ideas??
Thanks in advance,
Kathleen
@kathleenb You could always try doing a "Quick Save" before closing out of the game. If you go to the pause menu while on the world map, there should be the option to quick save which temporarily saves your progress. The quick save will go away when you resume playing on your file, though, so you'll have to make sure to quick save again next time before you quit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you might be pretty new to Nintendo games. So just in case you don't already know this, the A button is the one you press to confirm. On a PlayStation controller, you usually confirm with the X button, which is the same spot as the B button on a Nintendo controller and not the one you want to press. So maybe you were hitting the wrong one? Make sure there is a pop-up on the screen that tells you the game saved successfully.
Hope this helps, Kathleen! Welcome to the Switch family.
Thanks not_soos! I’m new to switch but not nintendo games in general. Have tried quick save several times too but with no success other than the intended one return on quick save. So frustrating!
Finish the level, maybe .... ? Sounds similar to a check-point system, where you can effectively only save at certain points but not played that game, so just an idea
I’ve loved Mario since I was a child Aaportal so yes, heaps of fun, just so annoyed that it won’t save while i’m trying to show my children how much fun it is!! Did it only save for you up to first halfway castle too?
Well it was until I hit Boom-Booms second castle that it started saving for me. Before that it wouldn’t do it. But then I tried Not_Soos’s advice and it worked. I’m glad you enjoy it! It’s a fun game! Have fun with your children!
