I do not have strong opinions about any of the Bowser battles, outside of the RPGs. They're all on the level of "good and fun but could be better". Though I'll give 3D World credit for not just being a slightly tougher version of previous boss fights, when they already had Bowser boss battles before.
The Bowser battles in Galaxy 2 are awesome, where you have to groundpound those planetoids at him like projectiles.
I bought the game yesterday as I found a copy for 40€ and finished the main game with all stars, stamps and golden flags (never played the Wii U version). It is an ok game but I definitely prefer all sandbox style 3d Mario.
Today I start the special worlds and let's see it it hurts...
Does anyone know if the timers are just for bragging rights or if there is any reward? Also do you need to finish all stages with all characters for true ending?
P.s: did not start Bowser fury yet but looking forward to it
@Balta666 To get to the final world you don't need to beat every level with every character. I think you had to do that back on Wii U, but after you unlock it, the icons will pop up, giving you a semi-incentive.
@rallydefault I just beat Boss Blitz and now this? I'll have to get them all to gain the moral high ground!
@Balta666
I think beating every level with every character only unlocks the five character stamps. Not really worth it for me, but maybe for a rainy day in the future lol
Is it true that in the Wii U version if you lost a life you lost any stars/stamps you collected? If so, that's quite a drop in the difficulty level on the Switch version!
@damien33ad : As long as one player reaches the flagpole, then you're all good. Playing the post-campaign stages will probably be out of the question due to the substantial spike in difficulty, but if, like you've said, she isn't a gamer, then this will probably be even harder for her than NSMBU, especially as there is no Nabbit-like character for novice players. The Cat Mario amiibo spawns an invincibility bell, but I believe that amiibo doesn't work in multiplayer, which defeats the purpose a little.
Kind of strange that they put special mushroom after star as this world is one of the easiest so far (I would say probably just the first 2 main worlds are easier)
So I did not know until just now that Bowser's Fury was made by NST. That surprises me, they've done nothing but Mario vs. DK games and helping other teams for FOREVER.

Oh, so that's why there was so many Western names in the credits. That's interesting because they made Wave Race Blue Storm and some of that definitely comes through in the game's design.
They did a great job. 😃 I completed it with 100 shines last night and it was so much fun apart from the Bowser fights which I wasn't so keen on. But then boss battles are always my least favourite part of platformers unless they're super easy like 3D World. 😉 I don't have the patience for them and just don't find them fun for the most part.
It's weird there's no info box after beating Boss Blitz saying you need to get all the stars and stamps to progress on to Champions Road.
I'm not sure if I'll bother to get Champions Road, I might just finish the game here or tackle the rest of the stamps and stars later in the year when I feel like playing again. 🤔 Feel a bit burned out from it now and it becomes quite repetitive, especially with the remixed levels.
@Clyde_Radcliffe I have allways grabbed all stars, stamp and gold flags before moving to another stage therefore I am good for that. But Boy do I hate the boss rush as the timer is not that plenty for so much (had to watch a video showing that you can bounce on the two heads at the same time...).
I actually also couldn't find how to start the special worlds and had to google it
@Balta666 I didn't know you could bounce on them both! I beat it using the assist item in the end. 😂 And what a troll when there was a 6th boss at the end too!
I think they assume most people will figure out the requirements by looking at the status screens for each world. The shadows for the stars, stamps, and flag pole are good indicators. (Not throwing shade on those who had to Google, I'm pretty sure I also searched for a few things.)
