I got it also for bowsers fury. I still have the Wii u copy. After completing it 100% not disappointed with it although I would love more. It was a short game but each shine felt valuable. I kind of enjoyed it more than mario oddyssey for that reason as finding purple coins in SMO felt more valuable than finding moons.
@1UP_MARIO@jump@Zeldafan79 I prefer the way Cat Shines are distributed in Bowser's Fury. Instead of there being a massive overload of Moons there's a relatively focused amount of shines. I like the size of the world, which could potentially set a standard for Mario games like this; except a full sized Mario fame could be the size of four or five of the world found in Bowser's Fury.
I admit it feels a bit empty at times but the platforming challenges were really fun. Final boss was a massive adrenaline overload.

Yea the platforming was great in bowsers fury. My favourite and most memorable shine was crisp climb castle, finding all the shards was great as three of them was on great locations and hidden well
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
I think Lake Lapcat may be about the equivalent of one world in a future game, so we could see a full game about 6-8 times as large. Really if you look at the way Bowser's Fury is structured, it's somewhat like a world map in a traditional linear Mario game.
I think going forward, these open world hubs are going to replace the map screens. Instead of running around a static map to tiny dots representing the levels and loading into them, you wander around a hub world and just walk straight to the level. Then in between levels, you could explore the overworld for even more Stars/Shines/whatever. That would be the perfect blend of sandbox and linear gameplay.
@1UP_MARIO I love all the plessie shines, the ones where you ride through his picture in the water to start them... Pure Nintendo platforming fun at it's best.
I finally managed to complete Champions Road as Peach with the Tanooki suit.
By the end I was consistently able to get to the boost pad section, nice to feel my practice passing off.
In one attempt I died just as I was about to touch the warp box at the end of the boost pad section, painful.
Tonight I went back and nabbed any collectables I missed (using Peach made collecting that one Green Star in the nighttime Creeper Plant level a lot easier), so I should now have everything before "Boss Blitz" completed.
Next time I'll tackle "Boss Blitz" and then hopefully be able to access the final world.

Strange thought but why is Cat Mario yellow? The others have matching colours when in catform so he should be red. This is a plot hole as big as why is Mario controlling the mind control hat when the hat is on him.
@Balta666 that still doesn't answer how is Mario controlling Cappy. It's because Cappy is actually tricking you into thinking you're in control of Mario so he can secretly and systematically take over the other kingdoms. The truth is out there. ;p
In anycase I was asking about why isn't Cat Mario red.
@TheJGG yeah, it's gonna be red Cat Mario looks ugly but if he was brown to match his hair or change the design so it's dungarees over the cat costume it would make more sense to me.
@TheJGG
I don't know if this is how other people fight Motley BossBlob, but as soon as he lands on that final jump of each cycle and is literally just beginning to disperse into the little metallic clones, I'm already jumping into the middle of it all and 99% of the time just land right on him and skip any kind of running around. It is pretty much a blind jump guessing at the center, but I've had excellent luck with it. And if you have the cat suit you can even give a swipe or two if you don't happen to land directly on him.
