I'm fine with Boss Blitz now because I know all the tricks to do the bosses fast, especially Hisstocrats. I remember hating it on Wii U though because of the time limit, it would have been nice if they threw a green clock in there somewhere.
@Bolt_Strike
Yea, took me a few tries because of the time limit, not so much the boss danger.
I've been doing a second playthrough of Origami King - I have to get back to trying Champion's Road! I made it sooooo close to the end the other day, to the part with all the zip panels, but I was already small and got hit by one of the shockwaves. I assume that's near the end, at least, because I had at least 2 of the stars at that point.
I beat the boss blitz stage stage on my first try, but it was CLOSE. Like, REAL close. Like I legit had 10ish seconds left before I got to that area with the flagpole where they give you that extra clock. I didn't realize the timing was going to be quite that strict or I wouldn't have messed around fighting the Hisstocrats so much.
@TheJGG He is. You just fight him after you unlock the warp box. You have to fight Boom Boom, Pom Pom, King Ka-Thunk, the Hisstocrat pair, and Boss Brolder for the keys, then you unlock the warp box and face Motley Bossblob, then you reach the goal. If you just barely had enough time getting the 5th key, that's not good enough, you'll need about 50-100 seconds more for Motley Bossblob. Luckily after that, you get a Green +Clock, so you just need to make it past Motley Bossblob to win.
@TheJGG If you need to save time, here's a few tips to speed things up:
Boss Brolder: From the start, grab the Brolder in the middle and throw it right at Boss Brolder. After he finishes spinning and hurling the flaming rocks, wait for him to spawn more Brolders. Immediately pick one up and throw it at him, then pick another one up and hold onto it while he's spinning again. If it wriggles before he stops, find a safe place to throw it and then immediately pick it up again or else it'll break free and damage you. After he stops spinning, immediately throw the Brolder you're holding at Boss Brolder to finish him off.
Hisstocrats: If you're not a cat, grab a Super Bell ASAP (try not to use one you have in reserve if you're going for the gold flag though, save that one for the final stretch). After you hit one, you can pounce and hit the other one (I used Peach for this, she can hover then pounce to reach the other Hisstocrat, haven't tested this with other characters so you may need to do some experimenting to figure out how to save time with other characters).
King Ka-Thunk: After the battle starts, go immediately to the far middle square of the arena and let him fall on you, dodging his face. Jump and hit it, then move back one square to the middle square. Repeat the process, then move back one square to the front middle square. Once done, stand in the middle square and the warp box will spawn.
If you screw things up too badly, you should probably just restart the level. Good luck.
@Bolt_Strike I played almost the whole game as Luigi, and then switched to Rosalina for the rest. I'm clinically insane, that's why! I entered Boss Blitz with zero prep, and so without any items. So it was more a matter of me trying out the level, even if I came close to beating it. With some preparation I'm sure I'll succeed. Much thanks for your help, I'm confident that it'll be a matter of time.
Just finished Bowser's Fury and it's really great bonus content. I love the sense of urgency having Bowser floating about and popping up every now and then brings. I just wish it wasn't so short.
If we are talking about missing bosses, they didn't throw in Prince Bully. But in general, they seem to treat Prince Bully like a mini-boss which is strange because there's no other ones like it (you don't see say, King Hammer Bro or Big Chargin Chuck or anything). Maybe they could've done Prince Bully, Hisstocrats, Boss Brolder, King Ka-Thunk, and Motley Bossblob for the keys and a Boom Boom/Pom Pom double team for the finale? Whatever though, this level is bad enough without me trying to make it worse.
For the Hisstocrats I go behind them then use the ground pound jump followed by the forward dive at the highest point of the jump to hit their heads. It takes a little practice and may not work for the characters with lower jumps, like Toad and Rosalina, but it's really fast if you can pull it off.
@TheJGG
Oh wow, Luigi? His controls are so slippery, I can't stand it lol I either play as Mario or Peach, though Rosalina is cool with her spin.
I literally only use Luigi for the haunted house levels because it just feels right! (Luigi's Mansion) I was disappointed at how they'd watered down his mad jumping from Mario Bros 2 and Super Luigi U.
Peach is probably my favourite. I'm using her almost exclusively for the post ending worlds.
@Clyde_Radcliffe
Yea his jump is nice, I guess, but otherwise he controls so dang floaty/slippery that I just can't imagine doing some of the levels with the really precise jumps. I'm sure you get used to it.
I will say it's tough to go back to Mario or Toad after playing Peach, though. You just go back to basically nothing extra on the jump. Almost feels like you're gimping yourself. I feel like Toad's extra speed is only useful in a handful of levels, and honestly on some of the falling block levels he feels too fast.

I like using Toad to go back and get missing stars. His speed is useful for running through the levels until I get to where the star is, but yeah he's definitely too fast for some levels! The Sonic of 3D World. 😉
Bowser's Fury has grown me a lot now I'm more used to the pacing and how it works...
I like the throwbacks to older 3D Mario games. How retrieving the cat's babies is like the penguin star in Mario 64 and how Shadow Luigi is basically like chasing Shadow Mario from Mario Sunshine (albeit shadow Mario was much cooler and had that awesome theme tune!)
Also appreciate how action packed and full of things to do it is when compared to the sparse open world in BOTW which I found kind of overwhelming.
@Clyde_Radcliffe
Yea, I thought Bowser's Fury was fantastic. Frankly, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I have, and I wasn't expecting as much content as it has. They really did a great job.
So about how long is bowser's fury anyway? I mean if you're going for 100%. I hear it's kinda open world in a way. Is that true? I still haven't got around to getting it yet but I'm considering it. I was just on the fence because I still have my Wii U copy of 3D world.

@Zeldafan79 It's more of a sandbox than open world, it's bigger than a kingdom in Odyssey. To complete the main the "story" is around 2-5 hours to 100% maybe around 6-10 hours.
