@Tasuki it has npcs and events with them, and you can get married… but I wouldn’t say that aspect overtakes the farming at all… unless of course one decides to focus on it.

You can choose to be as much of a hermit as you want.

@Eel
I want to ask.
When i will get staff roll credit again after getting married?
I heard that you have to spent several years later until got baby.
Does the game have same evaluation 3 years like Back to Nature?

Anti-Matter

Eel

@Anti-Matter no, this is a remake of the GBA version of the game, which did not have any evaluation mechanic.

I believe it takes something around 2 or 3 in-game months for a baby to show up after your character marries.

I don't know when would the credits roll again, if ever.

@Eel OK, that sounds good. Think I will give it a shot on Gamepass. Thank you for the info.

Friends of Mineral Town is finally up on my backlog rotation. I began playing last night. I am now in the mood for hoein', seedin', and harvestin'. Hey! Get your head out of the gutter. I'm genuinely ready for a cozy game, and word round the campfire is that this is arguably the best in the series.

So here I go.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

Here is the thing you must know.
Every Story of Seasons games are different.
Because of being different on each games, the things that will be included in the games will be also different.
It will not cookie cutter on every single games.
Why there is a church on Friends of Mineral Town but no church on Wonderful Life and Pioneers of Olive Town ?
Because the games have different storyline and different purpose.
That's because the team who made each series have their own ideas.
They will not put the same things on each games if they really want a different narrative.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is basically like Harvest Moon Back to Nature from PS1 as I have ever played that game long time ago so I quickly adapted with the game.
There is a Supermarket in Friends of Mineral Town that selling the seeds of the crops, the edible foods, kitchen tools, etc. The Supermarket closed every Sunday and Tuesday.

Because SoS: Friends of Mineral Town have similarity with Back to Nature, the characters likes & dislikes are pretty much same, the festivals list are also pretty much same (except there are a few festivals get removed due to different decision from the team), the location of every buildings + their business hours are pretty much same.

There are a lot of differences between the old and new games, I cannot mention them one by one as there are too many to mention.
Some of the biggest differences are:

1. All the characters got new looking and almost all of them got new name based on their Japanese version of Back to Nature.
2. You must get the heart event of each heart colors and answer the correct answer to fulfill the requirements to get married as the bachelors / bachelorettes will not accept your Blue Feather if you miss one heart event. Don't worry, you can always trigger the missing heart event anytime as long you trigger on the right time and right place.
3. You can Save the game anywhere including inside the buildings or cave so it's a great feature to use the trick to get down deep in the mining cave quickly or getting the specific gems without wasting too much energy. You can simply Load the game and redo the process.
4. There are some characters get removed: Greg the fisherman, Kano the photographer, Louis the insect scientist. They are featured on Back to Nature but not anymore on Friends of Mineral Town remake. But, there are 2 new marriageable candidates added in the game. They are Brandon and Jennifer.
5. Your animal farm will start with maximum 5 hearts when you buy from Poultry Farm or Yodel Ranch. To increase their maximum heart level until 10 hearts, you must breed them.
For the chicken, you must hatch the egg from chicken with 5 hearts to get new chicken with maximum 6 hearts level then hatch the egg from 6 hearts chicken to get 7 hearts chicken.
Repeat the process until you get 10 hearts chicken.
For the barn animals, you must breed them with Miracle Potions to get new animals with one more hearts level then breed the newborn animals with higher hearts level to get even higher heart level newborn animals.
Repeat the process until you get 10 hearts animals.

I get that each harvest moon game is different in storylines but from what I played there are some similarities in each game. As for Harvest Moon Back To Nature PS1 I never played the PS1 game or the original GBA version. Just PS2, GBC, 3DS, & Nintendo Switch when it comes to the harvest moon series in general. 🤷‍♀️✌️

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

@HarvestGoddess

Gameplay 11/10 ultra slick inventory
Graphics 7/10 it's great but it lacks the charm of the original
Character sprites 8/10 they are not as good as the original ones... save for Marie

Overally, it's a 12/10 game which fixes the only bad thing about More Friends of Mineral Town - you can now marry. Some things had to be done from scratch due to licensing limitations, but it's otherwise perfect.

@Barbiegurl777 regarding your question earlier about what to do - start with crops. Till the 3x3 squares, buy seeds, plant them, water them every day. Maybe get a chicken they are ultra easy to care for, and you can get a full coop just by incubating the eggs.

Ask away anytime, I will provide support to a fellow Moon Harvester in a flash

Btw, in the remake version you can walk through your crops, unlike the older games so you can plant all of the tilled soils with crops.

I got married to Gray in the game & had a baby boy (Theodore) in the game. Should I still keep playing to build up friendships in the game for the cut scenes? I sort of like this game but tbh it's kind of boring. All the characters look like midgets & there's no zoom in & out feature which is very annoying. I like the sprites but they water, harvest crops & take care of the animals... Isn't that supposed to be the game player's job in the game? Thinking I might replay: Story Of Seasons A Wonderful Life nintendo switch because honestly just like it alot more... 🤦‍♀️ I do like story of seasons friends of mineral town nintendo switch but I don't like how it doesn't explain anything in the game how to do stuff & basically a guessing game half the time as to what to do & or to even how to do something... 🤦‍♀️✌️ Tbh I wish the characters were taller... Everyone looks like midgets in the game not sure if it's because it's a remake from the GBA version but still think they could have made the characters a little taller... 🤦‍♀️

Friends of Mineral Town remake created based on Back to Nature and GBA version so the view of the town will be exactly locked camera angle, no zoom in / out.
Be granted to get the remake version because every story of seasons games are different.

Harvest Sprite job to water the crops, take care the animals, harvesting crops are already exist since from Back to Nature PS1 and it was NOT something new. I really appreciate the helps from Harvest Sprites, something that only exist on Back to Nature and Friends of Mineral Town.

I would say Friends if Mineral Town have more contents than A Wonderful Life.
There is NO Festival, NO 30 days, NO Mayor, NO Church, NO Legalized marriage, NO Other shops buildings except Vesta Farm and Moonlight Cafe, NO Harvest Sprites to help you, NO Harvest Goddess, NO Regrowable crops in Wonderful Life.

I knew of the harvest sprites. As for them helping in harvest moon / story of seasons games from 20 years ago if not longer. I was unaware of. Like I said before there was alot of older harvest moon games I never played even though you have apparently. As for the zooming in & out feature is a very common feature for alot of games just saying wish it would have been in this game particularly. So far the only harvest moon game I played on Playstation at all is: Harvest Moon Save The Homeland for PS2. I have NOT played previous harvest moon games on Playstation or the super nintendo back then. Heard of those titles in name only from friends when in high school years ago. My first experience with harvest moon was on the game boy color with harvest moon gbc & harvest moon 2 gbc. Literally a friend in high school gave me harvest moon 2 gbc because they saw me playing my red gba sp. They didn't want the game anymore & just gave me the game. 🤷‍♀️ Alot of the stuff you don't like in story of seasons a wonderful life pretty much all of those are no loss for me. I could take or leave the harvest goddess personally. Glad they left her out of story of seasons a wonderful life. From what I noticed when she is in different harvest moon games she doesn't add much to the game play to begin with. 🤷‍♀️✌️

The only Harvest Goddess being an important thing was from Magical Melody on Gamecube and Tree of Tranquility on Wii. You have to rescue the Harvest Goddess to finish the storyline.

On the spinoff Doraemon Story of Seasons, Vera wasn't a Harvest Goddess. She was a futuristic scientist that trapped in different timeline when she tried her experiment about magical tree.

Yo, long time didn't post anything about this game.
Actually I still have interest with this game as I have ever played the PS1 version when I was teen but currently I still getting hiatus on this game since I was overthinking about my farm plot that have been planted with a lot of Pineapple plants and at the same time I want to raise my animal heart level until 10 so it will take very long process to breed my animals until they get 10 hearts.
To save the time, I have to sacrifice my Pineapple plants to be cut as I can always get easy 57K Gold from selling Van's Favorite Stuff to Huang.
Well, I will get some courage and do this thing.
