Topic: Stolen/Lost switch, can they mess up my saves?

My switch was stolen/Lost. I went online to de register it and it’s no longer a primary console.

That said from my understanding they can still play my digital games if they use my profile (as long as they’re online and that I’m not using my profile elsewhere) and since I have an NSO sub, some games saves are cloud backed and therefore does it mean they could mess up with my saves and when I get the new switch? I mean I get to a place in a game and they just play it after me and the next time I start I’m elsewhere in the game? Or worse they just delete my original save and the blank save is synced back to me?

I ask because assuming I get my saves back on a new console, should I just deactivate cloud backups after to avoid receiving a sync that is different from the last time I played it?

Thanks

@RunGMhx Yeah, if you had a Switch Online membership, you should be able to re-download the games, and game progress should be preserved & retrievable. (Animal Crossing New Horizon is the exception. It can't be transferred to a new console, if you get a new one. Yes, that's dumb)

I would contact Nintendo Support. I think you'll find them very helpful in your case. Their customer service is good

I think if you log in on a web browser there may be an option to log out of all existing devices.

I recently replaced my Switch and the process wasn’t that hard to do. The long part is waiting for everything to redownload.
