Topic: Stay with the name NX? Yes or No?

System titles aren't supposed to be "innovative." You all saw how the "Wii U" went over with name recognition.

Moreover, if I have to say "I'm playing on my Nintendo." I'll legit throw up. Like, no. That's not how words work.

@Haru17 Haha, I know what you mean mate. It kinda feels like you don't know what you are talking about when you refer to products as brands. People who aren't in to video games don't refer to any game console as a Nintendo these days. That was the 90's. In the 00's people refered to them as Playstations. Recently it was Xbox but I think it will resort to PlayStation again. Anyhoo...I need to Hoover my bedroom.

Nintendo have never stuck with their internal project names in the past, even though Dolphin and Revolution were better than GameCube/Wii. So no, I don't think 'NX' will be the final name.

I think they should stay with NX! Very close to sounding like "next," which from the few words we have so far, seems to kinda be what they want to stress about this new adventure.

I think the obvious choice is to stay with the NX, as it sounds modern, and I can imagine them going
"The NX: Next is Now" or something along those lines. Plus, I dread what the Nintendo naming department will come up with.

NX sounds just cool enough for me. Then again, my cousin suggested it could also be NES7 (obvisously, Nintendo´s 7th homeconsole, but it´s also a handheld according to the rumours). I´ll just call it Hyper Nintendo, with games sold in cardboard boxes, just like in the good old days.

If their plan is for it to be a powerful portable system that's can also work on your TV? They could make the name reflect that somehow. It's just a shame that all of the names I think of are things that already exist. The Nintendo Unity? The Go? Duo? There are some potentially pretty good names for this thing.

How about the Nintendo Go?

Makes perfect sense if it is indeed a hybrid system that you can play at home and on the move.

Nintendo would also be able to capitalise on the current 'Pokémon Go' frenzy, by calling their new system something with the word 'Go' in it.

I can see it being the NEX - Nintendo Entertainment X.

But then again, from a generic branding POV, anything with an X in it is dangerously close to Xbox, so maybe not.
