What's with the huge lead change with splatfest votes coming after the halftime report? Who waits until sunday to boot up splatoon to vote & join splatfest? This happened last splatefest, too. I think the voting reports might be bogus. To have such a big lead change after halftime, seems to imply half or more players don't vote for splatfest until Sunday. Most splatoon likers do not wait until sunday to boot up Splatoon on a Splatfest weekend. Or is there a new meta/splatfest strategy?

@WoomyNNYes I don't think it's that unlikely that a decent proportion of players would wait until Sunday. A lot of casual players might forget or not realise the Splatfest is on until they see it on social media or the Switch news page, and some people might just want to play Tricolour.since that's the biggest unique feature of Splatfests in this game.

@Dogorilla Ohhh, Tricolor. Good call. I bet that's a decent factor. If anyone is bored of regular Turf War, I could see Tricolor being a draw, since it's newer content.

Also I turned off the "user posts" option in my game, I got sick of memes and gross stuff flooding my plaza. Plus I lost interest in making Splatfest posts since I can't draw pixel-perfectly like everyone else can.

@Croctopus I think it was datamined that there would be a future update where you could make plaza posts without using Twitter/FB but it hasn’t happened yet. The plaza is also filled with Twitter culture

@Croctopus I'd like the next game to give us just two hosts again, these three-team Splatfests get problematic when there's two most-favored choices and one least-favored.

God, I wish I'd gotten into the series since the first game, imagine all the Miiverse posts I could've made in every Splatfest.

@Croctopus @IceDomino The types of plaza posts I saw changed massively when I chose Inkopolis as my hub area. Nowadays it's mostly people waiting for a certain weapon to reappear, Side Order or hype about Nintendo Directs/new Nintendo releases. Then with Splatfest, the plaza posts seemed the kind of stuff you'd see during Splatfests in the previous games.

Though on the other hand, when I won a 100x battle during Splatoween and got invited to take photos with Deep Cut I realized that Splatsville got much more of a makeover than Inkopolis. If Frosty Fest happens, it'll probably a similar outcome.

@luckyseven I had no idea that the twitter/FB requirement was still present, I thought they ditched that completely with Splatoon 3 though I never tried to create a post.

Completely off topic, but I'm still learning new stuff in x battles! Just figured out how to use reefslider to reach valuable positions (as long as you start and end out of danger). Can't believe I didn't think about using it like that before! Not sure if these videos will work, and sorry for the bad gameplay if they do...

I'll probably like the S-Blast '91 more than the '92 version, honestly. Only because it suits my play style more. I tend to have subs and specials that can attack other players, and the Booyah Bomb is probably my favorite special overall... I'm not too crazy for the '92's Reefslider since it can leave you vulnerable if you miss someone. I haven't used the Burst Bombs too often, though. Can't wait to give it a spin... I think I've been fairly decent with the S-Blast '92 myself. I'm better with shooters than with blasters, though.

@BingleyBongley I need to get much better at using those sneaky squid manoeuvres! My play style hasn’t changed that much since Splatoon 2 and I feel I’m not using the expanded movement options to their full potential.

I still haven't reached X Battles myself (still stuck in A Rank hell XD) but I'm glad to see you're having a great time with it! Especially with the Undercover Brella too; you're an absolute trooper XD

@Maxz Actually, I think I squid roll WAY too often. It's slower than just swimming normally and gives away your position. In the videos I got away with it because I had cover, mines set, and my brella shield ready.

@Fizza Once the new season starts, I'll be in s rank and lose access to x battles, so I'm trying to play as many as I can when I still can (At least I'll have the awesome new undercover kit to make the grind a bit more bearable).

You mentioned "especially with the undercover brella", but it's not as weak as people think it is. I think the misunderstanding comes from competitive players like chara who love to say that it's the weakest weapon in the game. It's the weakest weapon in the game... in organized team play. In team play you can just shout "BRELLA ON TOWER" or something and everyone on your team will throw bombs and shred the brella shield. Is undercover strong? No, not at all. But is it the weakest weapon in solo q? Probably not.
