@Joeynator3000 Joey, this is like… all you talked about for a month straight. Every Splatoon-related comment section, sure as clockwork there was Joeynator3000, complaining about this exact issue.

Getting this fixed was your life’s work. It was your calling; your cause; your raison d'être; your ikigai. It was inseparable from your very being. You were ‘vocally-dissatisfied-with-the-rank-down-options-in-Salmon-Run’ guy and you wore it like a supermodel.

I dunno, I suppose I was hoping the response to having all you worldly prayers answered would be a little less muted than:

“…okay… so like… I guess that’s a thing that like… maybe happened or something lol? :/ like… meh… -.- whatever lol :c … … -.- “

I guess at least it’s on brand.

This Splatfest was actually datamined when the Chill Season update dropped if you could believe it, though all that was known was when it would happen and not what the theme was. Extremely happy with the theme being Spicy, Sweet and Sour though, such an obvious choice with the benefit of hindsight that no-one really considered!

As for my allegiances, I'm currently deciding between Spicy and Sweet myself since I have a decent balance of those in my diet. The real question then becomes do I want red Shiver or pink Frye? Decisions, decisions....

This is a pretty fun Splatfest idea I think. I still really hope we get more crossover ideas in the future. 2's ideas were a lot of fun, especially the Smash Bros. one.

@SlashFuture For me, it's between spicy and sweet. I think sweet will win for sure even though I think I generally prefer spicy foods.

If we do get a Zelda Splatfest (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) then I'd definitely be going with Courage (aka Link). I do hope it happens around TOTK's release as well since I'm going to be playing Skyward Sword HD for the very first time in preparation for it coming out (I don't have any interest in TOTK or even BOTW mind you: I just want to play the quirky bird game ).

It's only been a week since it ended and I already want it back.

I don't care if the rewards weren't anything too special, it was so much FUN damnit!

i especially see it with turf war, but for some reason anarchy always seems untouched by the connection issues

@SlashFuture @novasoup Chiming in here to say that I've been having the same issues today as well. I've been trying to get in some Rainmaker matches since Brinewater's in rotation (haven't played the mode on that map yet) but I swear every single match at least one D/C and it's getting really frustrating. Haven't tried the other modes yet but definitely will if this keeps up.

Hopefully this emergency patch to fix Big Swig lag also touches up the connection.

I'm really happy about the changes being made to Tricolor. I barely have played any tricolor battles thanks to the randomness of everything so that'll be great for me. I'm also interested to see how Undertow Spillway will play out as a Splatfest map, especially with the recent change of adding ramps on the sides.

I think Nintendo needs to adjust the Salmon Run matching system. It's been painful lately in my region (US). I've dropped from Pro 3 all the way to Pro Part-timer (which is quite remarkable), and it appears newbs, or too many newbs, are usually why we fail to complete three waves. Hazard level is 100-ish, and we get 5 eggs of the needed quota of 20, or totally overrun by bosses, nobody's inking the ground and walls. Inking the ground and walls = survival of team.

I thought that shift with OP explosher would go great, but it wasn't enough.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah matchmaking is so unbalanced. I’m an Eggsecutive VP 100+ and I swear one match I’m playing with world champions and the next match I’m playing with people who have never touched the mode before.

Beat the secret kettle in Hero Mode! Didn’t even realised it existed until a friend came over and asked me for help with it. But now it’s DUNZO, and I have my cute bear ears!

@Maxz And you have the Grizz secret kettle bear badge = street cred. So, how long did it take you to beat it? I think it took me 3-4 hours to beat the secret kettle.🤣 It was a painful trial for me.

@WoomyNNYes I think it was a similar timeframe for me too! We were both a bit drunk (well, I was sobering up but my friend was… not), so I don’t precisely remember, but the sun was threatening to rise by the time the last Octarian fell.

The second time beating it on my own console was a lot smoother, although I still had some very silly deaths late in the first section which sent be all the way back to the start. The Octarian section was less painful though, as I’d learnt to pick them off quickly to they didn’t end up inking too much of the terrain.

It wasn’t exactly easy the second time either, though not as brutal at some of the FINAL final levels in the 3D Mario games.

Does the Grizzco Slosher in Splatoon 3 Salmon Run seem nerfed compared to Splatoon 2? I feel like the ink shot doesn't shoot as far. And, is ink consumption the same? I can only get 4 shots with a full tank of ink. Maybe it's the same as Splatoon 2, but I don't remember.

@WoomyNNYes Been a long time since I played Salmon Run in Splatoon 2 so I don't have good enough memory of it but it was always pretty heavy on ink consumption IIRC. It's still pretty OP despite that though with how it ignores armour.

Turf War should be easier with the influx of new Splatoon 3 players. It has been in previous post-christmas periods. We'll see if the pattern continues. More new players usually means a more level playing field for casual Turf War players & people new to Splatoon.

(also, I want the big metal spawn point thing in the general store, cost: 180,000 points.)
