Ok i got Switch Online and I got a code for Splatoon 2 for exclusive gear, but I don't own it.
Not sure if others can use it but incase someone can it is:

It is a European code, not sure if that makes any difference
Totally new to all this, can codes be used by more than one person or if used once they become invalid? My son is autistic and got one just a couple days ago for his birthday so i'm trying to learn all that i can so he can have fun.

Assuming he has a switch with Splatoon 2 it works as follows: enter the code in the eShop with his switch account, follow the instructions you receive after entering or in a confirmation email (probably just play the game or something, haven't tried myself) and you're ready to go. He should be able to use the gear for as often and as long as he wants. It's not some kind of consumable or anything. Once redeemed though, you can never use the code again on someone else's account and/or switch.
