Well, this is a bit awkward. There's server maintenance going on during the Splatfest...
Got the notification about it during a match.

Can someone answer me this. Really like the look of Splatoon 2 but a slow internet connection means online is not possible for me. Is the single player an improvment over the originals??

Also is the other offline content any good??

The server is down for "emergency maintenance" according to this. I wonder what happened. Don't think it was merely high traffic, as I didn't notice anything being slow or wonky when I was playing.

@bluemage1989 Single player is improved but not by that much. The only other offline content would be local multiplayer which requires everyone to have their own Switch. To be honest, this likely isn't a game you should buy if you're not going to play online.

A maintenance? At this hour and during a Splatfest at that as well? This seems really weird to me. Mostly because I was playing without any lag or slow down and not even ten minutes later, when I went to check tomorrow‘s stage schedule, the whole thing was under maintenance. I think I‘ve seen more maintenance in the last few weeks than the entire last year.

Maybe we didn't harvest enough Golden Eggs to power the servers...Pay-Cut's all around!

@bluemage1989 The main improvement with single player is the Splatoon 2 equivalent of amiibo challenges don't require amiibo. You just get different weapons naturally through the single player and can replay a stage with any unlocked weapon once you've beaten it.

How many hours would you say for the single player campaign on average??

@bluemage1989 About the same as the first game. Splatoon 2 is like most shooters nowadays where the single player's purpose is to prepare you for online multiplayer.

@GoldenGamer88 Hey, saw your post on Discord but couldn't figure out how to '@' you! No need to apologise about today! As you guys were saying, I'd be quite happy to go with the NL majority for most Splatfest themes if it'd give us a better chance of getting a team together - and I'd always be up for some Salmon Run/League or something in the meantime if others are free

@NaviAndMii @Zyrac Yeah, thing was the guy showed up like ten minutes after we decided to call it a night. Said he had to work longer because a coworker‘s gallbladder decided to explode. Sadly, it was outside of everybody‘s control what happened yesterday. But now that more and more people are joining the Discord, I think organizing League, SR or Splatfests should become easier.

Seems like it's time for me to get new amiibo.

The last ones I bought were Callie and Marie back when they were released.

Would be pretty cool if Nintendo use these amiibo to give us costumes for these. but, i'll still get it Pearl.
