Never got to play this game so I will be getting this.

uhm...may i add without denigration that the statement from Aonuma saying SS had many new ideas that were later added to BOTW is kinda...bulls* marketing? i'm sorry, i'm going to buy this of course, but it sounded like an excuse to me and it's not necessary at all for SS.

@teo_o whats wrong about that...? It's true. Breath of the Wild took and refined/adapted several mechanics that this game introduced to the series.

@Eel (oops! wrong asterisk sorry 🤣)yes of course it's somewhat factual. but come on...it's blatant marketing. it's like saying "hey you, 21 million buyers of BOTW, did you know SS had some elements of it??".
Also selling the sailcloth as a glider is somewhat misleading, i think people will find it very limited.
I don't know it sounded off, and the game doesn't benefit from comparisons with BOTW, i think it has elements to stand on its own, but i won't go into details to avoid any spoilers.
Anyway i can't wait to revisit this on the go.

Neat they worked out a way to play it without motion control. Is there any chance that Pro Controller is supported, too?

Oh well, I'm not likely to pick this up in the end. I do respect their effort to make it more accessible control-wise.

@teo_o I think they should take it a step further and change Skyward Sword so Links tunic is blue, show more of the character in BOTW that appear in SS and rename it BOTW 0 ;p

It should be because the controls are the same as Joy cons

@LzWinky Maybe she's thinking of those Pokemon Let's Go games, which disallowed use of the Pro Controller for no good reason.

I hope they also fix some of the issues of the original (overbearing Fi, empty sky, etc...) but I'm not counting it. Still probably going to buy it though; love the original on Wii but never finished it for some reason.

Maybe we will get 90's/00's angsty teen Fi as an option.

The shorter dungeons and more open areas were what he was talking about. Skyward sword is kinda like the first time zelda started trying to break away from the norm and do something different. Botw expands on that but honestly I felt it went a little too far.

At least skyward sword has an actual story. It still felt like zelda. Botw is good but it's almost too much content and for completionists it's a nightmare!

After finishing TP, and WW HD I've tried myself on Skyward Sword on the WiiU, I'm around 8 hours in and I don't understand why you're all that bothered by Fi or the controls. Controls are fine, Fi is pretty much optional from what I could tell until now, no idea if it changes later on. Music and story is great btw.
I'm still trying to decide if I should stop playing it and then play it on the Switch since I can just take it to work or school since I can play on the bus, train and on breaks.

I think I'm going to just play the version I bought for the Wii U a couple years ago. Can't really justify paying $60 for this when the stick controls look kind of annoying anyway.

@GH7Cloud I cried at the sight of shield and sword joycons, but then I remembered: at some point they will drift.

I don’t care if they drift. I need those joycons. I have a triwing. I’ll gut another regular set if they go bad.

Yall want to know what makes this really the best.......here is a hint it starts the the letter m and ends in the number 1, I will give you ten seconds......... times up its the game dosn't cease to live after march 31 along with the joycons.

Have they confirmed that this is gonna be a full $60 release? If so, that's pretty stingy. Really feels like they could've upgraded the graphics a bit, like they did with Xenoblade DE.

It does look like its 60fps though, so that's an improvement.

On the Mexican eShop it's a bit cheaper than Mario 3D Land. Not sure about the price in other regions though.
