@Aquinos7 Oh, I see. If you didn't have an SD card in the console, then the game save data is on the Switch internal memory. Internal memory is 32GB on Switch & Switch Lite, and it's 64GB on the OLED model. Corrupted game save data can happen on rare occasion. It's happened to me once. If you have Nintendo Switch Online, then you can redownload the game save data from the cloud, I think.

If you hit (+) on the game's tile on Switch home screen, select Save Data Cloud you can try downloading the save data from the cloud. I can't guarantee this will solve it, but I think it should.

@Aquinos7 Nintendo support also has a page for corrupted save data. It's surprising how good their support page is, if you search for things there. I didn't know how good it was until I joined here. If you already knew, then you're ahead of the curve.🌈👌

I had an issue when changing from a 128 to a 400 GB SD Card. I did what Nintendo says and copied everything from there to here, but my Switch insisted it can't access the card. So, I format the Card via the switch, and thought the problem now is solved, but no. I had no choice but to download everything again, which wasn't much luckily as I am a physical guy. But I don't get it, why it wasn't working. My plan was so masterful: A new 512 GB Card will feed my Music-Player, its 400 GB Card will get the Switch, its 128 GB Card will get my Smartphone, and its 32 GB Card will get my predecessor-handy which is now my alarm device. Everything worked except the Switch...

I bought the 400 GB Card in an local camera shop.

@Helios26, when you copy back don't overwrite anything that is created when the Switch formatted the new sd card. If you do that it will not work and ask to reformat the sd card. Only copy back the data files you created. I've done this 3 times already and followed the instructions and had no issue. What people are doing is copy everything they copied or moved from previous sd card and failed to notice that anything the Switch formatted on the new sd card shouldn't be OverWritten otherwise it recognizes it as the old card and possible can cause it to be corrupted. I went from 256 to 400 to now 1tb sd card without no issues.

@SwitchForce
First I formatted the SD Card via the PC to ExFat, it didn't work, but when the Switch formatted the SD Card, there was nothing on it. I transferred the folder "Nintendo" from the previous card to the new one, but that was a shot in the hole.

@Helios26 Did you update your Switch when you used the exFat format? I know larger capacity the Switch will ask to update it's firmware/software before it formats it. Then copy back your game saves that you move to your computer but not overwriting any folders or files it created on the new sd card doing so will invalidate the sd card and Switch will ask to format it again. If your not sure a simple google search or search engine you use can find solutions to what your asking as well.

@SwitchForce I had no Internet-Connection with the Switch in that moment, and didn't thought of it. And the Switch is asking for an firmware even when the latest version is already installed?
