@HotGoomba why do people have a issue with a non switching docked only system but not a non switching portable system. Well maybe you hate the switch lite equally. I don’t know.

And yes a streaming box is what I was thinking of. Switch does have YouTube.

@sixrings Well I feel like that a portable Switch makes more sense than a at-home Switch.

Also I don't consider YouTube a streaming platform, but I guess that it counts.

@GrailUK Wednesday or Thursday would make sense being Nintendo loves revealing things on those days. However, Friday is right before E3 begins (unless you count that Koch Media stream on Thursday) so they could drop the reveal on that day instead. Or, and this is a big out there wild guess so hear me out, Nintendo... Don't... Reveal... Anything... Hardware... Related... At... All...

Until they do after E3 because Nintendo gotta Nintendo.

@sixrings I know right? I'm not saying a new model won't come out. It's just that all this rambling gets people "bad hypes" way up, and if Nintendo does not announce anything, those people will get mad at the company. While the ones that spread the rumors will leave clean, as they never stated something would happen for sure.

Anyway, it's nice to have a healthy discussion for sure! And what a boredom life would be without expectations! Let's wait and see

@Lugazz well I personally won’t hold Nintendo responsible. It’s the “influencers” who are making monies off these “sources” and “leaks”

Imagine that they use the extra power to fix the draw distance instead of upping it to 4k though.

Because a docked only Switch offers nothing the regular Switch doesn't have already. At least the Switch Lite is a smaller and more portable device. Hell if you get it for a kid not being able to dock is a feature!

Really, the only reason not to be portable is to be able to run at a higher clock. And if you're after that cost isn't your concern. If you want a higher spec you'll be happy to get the Pro SKU.

Also yes, cost. You could cut costs with a TV only Switch. But the "kids" market it far more price sensitive than the "performance" market. Doesn't really make business sense IMO

@skywake TBH I wouldn't find any reason to get a switch if it could switch, yes I have a lite and do play it alot, but a switch were I can only play on the tv ruins it for me, I mean it wouldn't be any different then any other console now a days.

Does anybody remember Wii HD? Yeah that was a big rumor floating around online back in 2010 or 2011. There were even retail listings showing up and everything. Then BAM we got the Wii U instead. Oh and how about when the DS was called a third pillar to Gamecube and GBA and not the actual GBA successor. Then when the DS took off all the sudden yep it's the successor after all.

Seriously stop calling it the switch pro or Nintendo will get lazy and actually call it that because that's what everyone online has been calling it since the PS4 pro came out. I'd like Nintendo to be Nintendo and come up with something more creative.
