Topic: The Nintendo Switch Rumor and Speculation Thread

I'm just tired of people pushing the "switch pro" thing, and still listening to the same insiders who got the whole thing wrong, and keep pushing the reveal and release dates back. @NintendoByNature

We got the switch revision, and that's just it. There's nothing more coming, asides from probably something like a "Switch OLED Lite", or something of that nature. I'm just more annoyed that these Insiders who got the reveal blatantly wrong are still seen as "credible" to everyone, and Nintendo youtubers keep propagating it non-stop, despite the fact that it isn't real.

I do think Slowdive leaving was a little bit much, and that was never my intention, but it is what it is.

And yeah, the thread's title was right, we got a new metroid and a new console.. we just didn't get the console that most sources were claiming was a reality.

You guys do know the President actually addressed the rumours. Just before E3, he did mention that 'somethings are just not possible.' I took that as a PS4 Switch with DLSS for under $400 unfeasable.

And now Slowdive is gone. Again. Good job everyone keeping your cool. I'm going to go to a thread that doesn't involve whining over a few rumors that were never confirmed

@sixrings Please, stop making people leave. After a while your whining is just annoying. Sorry if this is a bit mean, but honestly, I'm sick of everyone in this thread.

Let people be who they are. If you don't like speculation then why on Earth are you on this thread. Dissapointing behaviour hounding someone to the point of them not feeling welcome.

A 4K Switch is probably coming with the successor or just the next Nintendo console being 4K capable in general if the Switch is just a one and done thing

It took them three whole console generations to add LAN support out of the box. The idea of them going straight to 4K now when they've been as of late a generation behind everyone else technologically was always not really one I entertained

I do expect Switch to become a line of consoles going forward kind of like the DS line so there's going to be room for a proper spec bump. Wasn't expecting it this year though since we haven't even reached the 5 year mark of the Switch lifecycle yet

@GrailUK I don't know if that was directly towards me or not, but thank you for making me rethink this whole thread. It's fine if people speculate, but when it leads to people wanting to leave the whole website, then we have a problem.

@HotGoomba I think speculation is fine, it's just that when people use it to build false hope or expectation that something is coming that was never promised, that's when it becomes problematic

Not even the first time Nintendo fans have done that to begin with

@VoidofLight Would a Switch OLED Lite even make sense at this point considering this model specifically only seems to present benefits to the people who exclusively play in handheld mode?

The TV Mode crowd basically has no reason to upgrade since that experience was completely unchanged outside the integrated LAN support and I guess more onboard storage.

@Slowdive Just ignore and don't respond to them friend, like the rest of us. Don't give in to the morons.

Ugh, @sixrings, just admit that you've been doing a bit much and stop making yourself seem more negative. I'm surprised that the mods haven't taken much action towards you.

Yeah... People can and will use this thread to talk about rumors and speculation. If that's a topic that makes anyone irrationally angry, it would be for the better to avoid the thread entirely, instead of poking the people in it.

Anyhow, shall we move the goalpost/rename the thread now that both things happened?
