I'm not a fan of the Rabbids at all. When I heard about this, my first thoughts were "Sounds dumb." But as I actually watched gameplay, I realized it looked really fun. This is now at the top of my Switch wishlist (Besides Super Mario Odyssey of course.)
Scrummer

I'm really looking forward to this game. Knowing this and odyssey (as well as splatoon etc.) are rarely going to be discounted within a year, I buy them day one.
I admit defeat to the capitalistic marketing overlords. But I love it in this case. The game looks too much fun to leave on the table.
Looking at that new ''villain'' art, it's more obvious than ever that Jr. is the main antagonist. And though I didn't realize it before, most of the minor enemy Rabbid's hair actually resembles that of Jr. as well.
Oh, and Jr.'s new mech has a cow-themed weapon. Ah, memories...
@BLP_Software Rabbids are just one of those things that people consider ''cool'' to hate. Like Minions, or Capcom. Who knows if this game will change that.
No 3rd party game ever sells on Nintendo consoles.
@Ubisoft Headquarters
Let's put Mario on a really bonkers crossover and make fun of his moustache and stupid catchphrases and give him a gun and let's make Peach shoot with a fire blasting shotgun and put rabbids in it.
Watch money being printed.
Seriously though, if you want to have a good time. Go and read the comments from any video or news item that has the leak from eight months ago. Then read comments from todays previews that have been all around the web.
This game must have the Guinness world record on changing peoples minds.
The only thing the world will judge you for is why you are playing what is going to be viewed as a kids game
CoD bros online, maybe. Most adults don't need to try and establish their maturity with their choices in media.
There's a lot of truth to the saying that youth is wasted on the young. So many spend all their time intent on growing up, and then, when they're firmly grown up, they wistfully try to recapture their childhoods.
I think people are just shocked they want the game so much after how down they were on it. I'm in the same boat. I, like so many of my fellow gamers, had a kneejerk reaction to the leaks, and I have egg on my face now.
@Ralizah We all have so much egg on our faces it's like a bomb went off in a chicken coop.
If think that's the main source of sheepishness around the game (if you'll pardon the abrupt switch in animal analogies). It's not that people are ashamed of buying a kids' game (if we were, we wouldn't be on a Nintendo forum), but that we're a little ashamed of our past selves, and can't shake the feeling that if we explained our current opinion to our past selves, our past selves would probably be ashamed of us.
When reacting to the game after the leak, nearly everyone and their donkey got at least a little on board the "SO MUCH WRONG"/"WHY NINTENDO WHY"/"KILL IT WITH FIRE" bandwagon, and hating on the game almost became a sort of meme. Now, the meme is us.
And the first rule of the internet is, never be the meme.
Internet is all about its exaggerations and overreactions. Today I read a post from someone saying they weren't gonna buy RE Revelations and that Capcom could kick rocks, because... once upon a time years ago they didn't bring RE Revelations 2 to Wii U. Which, I'll be the first to say, that was bogus, and I've ranted on that issue many times. But life is too short to hold a grudge for half a decade and boycott great games out of spite. But that's how the Internet is. It's why people, to this day, talk about boycotting Rayman Legends on Switch because.... once upon a time it went multiplat, way back in 2013, in another console generation, on another system.
But people here, I respect the people here. Because at least when this game was revealed, people admitted hey, we were wrong. Game looks great. We're human beings. We're going to be wrong about a great many things. But a person who can admit they're wrong and change their opinion when the evidence is brought forward... that's the kind of people I want to associate with. That's the kind of people I want to talk about video games with.
