For some reason my right joy con always loses charge faster than the left. Today as i docked the switch and left the house for the day, the left was fully charged, right about 75%.
Just got home and turned BOTW on, the right Joy Con is now in the red! It's as though it has been disconnected from the docked switch and is searching for connection, thus depleting all of its power! The power to the Switch has been on all day. Even if it hasn't, the Switch was off, so why would the right joy con keep draining battery? Please tell me I'm doing something wrong!
Also, am i right in saying a docked Switch and Joy Cons are supposed to charge while the Switch is switched off and not just in sleep mode?
I'm not sure if you are actually doing something wrong or not but right joy-con have many features builtin. The right joy-con have IR, NFC, and motion sensor which the left joy-con do not have. Maybe that's have to do with the right drawing more power?
Yes, this would explain why my right joy con is repeatedly at less power than the left by about a quarter or third. But today it's as though it has been on all day despite the switch being powered down and despite it being connected to a docked switch with power supplied to it.
I don't think it's an issue with the switch itself, I'm staring at the controller screen now and the little lightning bolt is next to the right joy con graphic, so it's still charging it ok while the switch is on. It's just concerning me that it's not charging while powered down.
