Topic: Question regarding updating joy cons

Hi i bought 2 new joy cons for my switch i connected them and tried updating them and got this message The connection with the controller has been lost. What does it mean as never had a switch before even i've tried them on a different switch and did the same thing. Please help

If you get an error code, you can plug the error code into the search bar on a nintendo support site.

Basic troubleshooting, make sure the console system is updated, rebooted, and then try updating the joycons again. (just in case you didn't have the recent system update from a about a week ago, or there was a glitch).
