There might be a thread about this somewhere, couldn't find it. I know for sure without a shadow of doubt that the brand cable matters 202023 usb ethernet adapter does not work with the Nintendo Switch. Don't get me wrong it works with everything else. Just thought I would save you all some time, probably not money though. I just shelled out 25 for the "official" ethernet adapter. Although many others have been said to work. If anyone has more info on which work and do not please let us know.

I can confirm that the Cable Matters 202013 works fine. This is the USB adapter I normally get for other purposes so I already had one handy to try. I'm ultimately using the UGREEN since I had already ordered that since it was already known to work.

@sremick It's weird I figured the Cable Matters 202023 would work, its a 2.0 usb and the Nintendo specs says the usb ports are 2.0 compatible.

Not that it necessarily matters in this instance, but I wouldn't use USB2 for gigabit ethernet adapters since USB2 can't keep up. USB3 is required, otherwise you're limited to about 500 MBit/s.

The Ethernet dongle from the Wii seems to work fine.
