I've been having problems with my mirco sd card slot. Every time I try inputting the micro sd card it will either say nothing or it will tell to restart my switch but the text will only appear for a few seconds, the text will also appear randomly during gameplay but go away after a few seconds, and when I do have enough time to hit the restart button that appears, when I look in the data management it says its not inserted, and on a rare occasion where the mirco sd card does work, it will only work for a few seconds and then say "Your Mirco SD card has been removed, please restart your console". And yes I have tried using other mirco sd cards. I have tried about 5 other mirco sd cards with nothing differences. The only reason I could see it doing this is because I had installed homebrew on my and I was taking my micro sd card out and putting it back in a lot so maybe that's why. I don't know, please help.
@MakotoYT Sounds like you've ruled out the micro sd card as the issue. Your issue could indicate a failing micro sd card reader, but I dont know what the symptoms of that could look like. I've heard a case here where one person had to replace their micro sd card reader, and my takeway was, the switch micro sd ard reader may be on the delicate side. But this judgment is based on hearsay.
If you've worked on your console, maybe the sd card reader ribbon didn't seat well? (anyone else reading, micro sd card reader has to be unplugged to replace switch battery, or fan.) I know spawn wave talked about 3ds repair, and he frequently saw screens that didn't work because the repair didn't plug them back in well - the ribbon plugs were fussy. I don't know if micro sd reader ribbons can be fussy like that, though.
(after re-reading your post, I removed a point about homebrew, because I didn't think it was cause of your issue)
@daguyisreeeeeeeeeeee If you made a thread looking for help, you might not like getting an unhelpful answer like that. There is a community rule "don't post unless you have something useful to say". Some may hit the Report button on your comment. Not trying to be a bummer. I'm also looking out for you, since you're new
