Let me be honest here - Activision's True Crime games (Streets of LA and New York City) from the early 2000's were pretty good and a lot like Rockstar's GTA series with free-roaming, a variety of unique missions and well-animated cutscenes, and plenty of rewards to power up yourself. While True Crime works almost similar to GTA, the only difference is that you're an official cop instead of a common street gangster as in GTA, working to catch criminals and affect your rating to be a good or bad cop. Streets of LA, the first of the two games, was a good one for me in my fond childhood since it came out and I played it on the classic Xbox console. These past days right now I decided to play this game again, but on Dolphin's GameCube and Wii emulator, and have just finished it with everything again like before several times. Good fun and a trip down memory lane.

I know that True Crime may not have been as successful as Grand Theft Auto, or that it had mixed reviews for game play and controls, but to me it was still good in terms of graphics, map design and, again, all the things said above here. I agree the controls and game play seemed a bit off, so were the collision detection, but generally if you were to look past these, you might enjoy TC as a kind of unique concept.

I am aware that Activision may not be willing to bring back these old games either for re-release, remaster or remake, even though they did remaster Crash and Spyro, despite not originally being the creators of those series like Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games were. But if True Crime were to come back at some point, it should have 60 FPS, better controls, less game play problems and collision detection, along with enhanced textures and things. If it were to be made available for retail or on the Switch eShop, then I wouldn't have to dig out my old Xbox again to even play the actual disc copies over the emulated versions I currently have on Dolphin for my laptop. Plus, that way my mother can watch me play the re-released games on the TV, since she likes entertainment and is still something to help both her and I get through each day. Yes, we're usually at home a lot, often or sometimes bored, but we do support each other well.

So yes, that's the idea for TC to return if possible. At least the Grand Theft Auto trilogy got improved and came to Nintendo Switch, that is nostalgia, too.

@AshleyGamer1995 It's not going to happen, Activision no longer even owns the trademark to True Crimes anymore, they abandoned it in in 2014. I know Sleeping Dogs is a spiritual successor to True Crime in fact it was originally going to be True Crimes Hong Kong before Activison abandoned it.

@Tasuki ...Darn it. Should of known. Well then... Maybe some other indie group would be happy to bring True Crime back? Like Night Dive did with Acclaim's Turok? I dunno...but it HAS to be possible somehow. Still a chance.

Sigh... ALWAYS gonna be disappointments to see or hear. I ask myself, is this life "not" supposed to be seen as "happy" anymore, other than my mind retaining it? Silly... -_- XD

Besides, I personally believe TC will return one day out there somewhere... It's just a matter of which people are showing interest in it. This world has so many people so surely there must be certain ones around seeking to revive TC!

@AshleyGamer1995 Given the poor sales of Sleeping Dogs I don't think there is a big as a market for or an interest for True Crimes as you think. GTA has pretty much corned that market and of course you have Saints Row if you want something a bit silly.
