Played this on PS4 and it is a lot of fun. Had more fun with this than Overwatch.

I'm sold on Jenos. I always play healers in MMO type games (hence my name lol)

I usually go for healers, too. I'll play a little of everything but I always seem to identify most with the healers. (I'm a veterinary nurse in the real world as well).

I'm joining the party soon I guess. It's just that time has held me up so far.

The fact that this has cross play is a huge win for me. This means there's always someone to play with. I can't see that happen in fortnite that easily, unless the game booms somehow.

Anybody know if the game is live yet? I downloaded it last night, really hoping I can play it when this work day is finally over.

Not sure if I want to try this or Fortnite first.

Dissapointed that it costs $30. I was hoping to try it out since it has upgrade paths and progression.

Sometimes, yes. There are several points where it seems to be hanging before it proceeds. And every so often it actually does hang. I'm having fun in the game itself, but the connection process is less than silky smooth.

Nope, it's not an all-in-one pack, just access to some skins and other visual doo-dads, outside of having immediate access to all characters, both out currently, and new ones that are intoduced later. I got it on the PS4 when it was on sale...actually, that was the reason I bothered to play it in the first place. It does take out a huge amount of grinding, which I liked. I think you'll also get some free cosmetic chests, which is....loot boxes, but at least it's just skins and whatnot now. It used to be that was how you unlocked cards...man was that an unhealthy grind...

Nobody says you have to pay for this. If you not happy about buying the game wait for the F2P version.

Don't know about Overwatch as I've never played, but I can testify that Paladins is a good game. The characters are well differentiated, the card system gives you some options for personalization, and battles are just fun.

The game also runs really, really smoothly once you get into the actual battle. I've only had one mid-battle disconnect so far, although there have been a few times that I couldn't start.

My sole complaint about it so far is that it could definitely use a few more maps. I've only been playing it for a few days, and not sure if the maps rotate regularly, but it seems like I've been playing on four maps over and over.

At what point to the enemy teams become real users and not AI?

Is it only in ranked?

I’m level 5 so still in casuals but either the AI is getting stronger or I’m playing against humans now

@ValhallaOutcast You're playing against bots until Level 5, so you just made the jump.

I honestly had no idea. I'm not a big shooter player, so I started out being horrifically bad. It was not obvious to me that I was playing bots, even after the L5 switch. I WAS suspicious about some of the enemies' names, but thought it was down to some platform or other automatically assigning people bland names. It never crossed my mind that they weren't actual people until I randomly read it in a forum.

@JasmineDragon thanks I felt like Rambo the first few levels now I’m my typical crappy FP shooter self lol

I also notice people with long names like more than 10 characters so I guess cross play is turned on from the start the lobbies are always a mix of switch and Xbox players?

If anybody is interested Digital Foundry made a Paladins on Switch analysis. To summarize visuals take only a pixel count hit and it runs basically flawless at 60fps.
