My internet service is 250/20 with Rogers cable in Canada. When running Ookla speedtests I consistently get results of 325/22 to local servers when running the tests from wired computers. Like this: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6910473176
When running Ookla speedtests from wifi devices like an iPhone or iPad I get speeds of at least 20/20.
But today when running speed tests on my daughter's brand new switch I am lucky to get 1Mbps down or up. My signal strength is good - it is a full 4/5 bars, whatever the max is. If that is truly the speed that I am getting to the eshop it will take forever to download games.
What's up with this? Is it doing the tests right back to Nintendo's servers that are bogged down due to Christmas Day? Or is there some other problem with my device? Or do speed tests on the Switch always show crappy speeds?
I am going to try a wired connection as well - but that is a different issue so I will start a different thread.
I have 50/50 here and my switch gets 49/35 at the maximum. If you get only 1Mbps, something is definitely wrong!
Are you close to the router? Using 5Ghz signal?

ISP speeds that they give you is theoretical not what you get on a daily bases. That is what one should know by now. I have 50/30 but test are 48/28-30 so I am close but no cigars and this is with Fiber. But they also have 1GigaByte Fiber as well so you can see how that will go if I literally Streamed. But 50(48)Mb Fiber is more that plenty for me. Fiber doesn't have the sharing as Cable and that to me is a far better investment. When my location was upgrading the ISP gave a Survey and our location had the most vote so we got to experience Fiber the first year before the next six region around my location got it. And compared to DSL the difference was night and day loading heavy sites to YouTube you can see and compare without running SpeedTest.
