This will hit Switch very soon in September and I also had the chance of playing it for over a year on my PC. It's a reserach, build, expand, trade, conquer-type of game focused on norse mythology. You start out with a clan of your choosing with certain boni and skills and have to manage your village, food, ressources and cashflow. You can also get into trading with NPC-clans or other players in 6-player Multiplayer mode.
It's highly recommended for players who enjoy this kind of experience but don't want to dive too deep into 4X-territory. It's a lighthearted game with a beautifully crafted world and wonderful atmospheric soundtrack. It looks and feels a bit like a modern Civ game, only that your viewpoint is closer and more intricate. You can watch your little townsfolk get their jobs done and it's pure fun slowly growing your clan and occupying more and more territory, thus opening up more slots for your buildings and ressources.
The game is full of secrets and has many viable tactics how you can "win" a scenario. Also it's 6-Player online multiplayer. So I imagine, this would be a good place to discuss tactics, secrets and times to gather online to play together (yes you can form alliances too).

I appreciate the publisher Merge Games. A majority of the games they've chosen to publish have been really good (sans Riot: Civil Unrest). I never go so far as to buy their Signature Editions, but I'll gladly pick up a standard copy...eventually. September is terribly crowded though.

@Magician Yeah it is crowded, so is october and honestly the rest of the year, but you just gotta have priorities! Northgard and Two Point Hospital are the perfect "relaxed affair" games for inbetween the huge hitters imho.

@DennisNOR I've seen it, but already have it physically, for the asking price, it's a steal and everyone only remotely interested in laid back strategy games OR vikings should give it a try!
