Anything with the Wii U Zelda ports would be an excellent scenario.

@GreenNinja500 silly person, Metroid prime 4 doesn’t exist.

And I highly doubt a new console releasing this year. Even an announcement is a big fat maybe. The switch is here to stay my friend. Nintendo said in 2020 that the Switch was already through its life, so late 2024 release is a better guess. And TOTK dlc is a very big maybe. Decent prediction, but I think the release dates are a little early. The likes of Splatoon 3, Pokémon and the first BOTW game have a very decent chunk of time in between waves 1 and 2.

Wait, why do we need a signature? Eh, I don’t know. Here’s your signature.

A perfect cap off to the year would be WW/TP ports and MP4. That's all I need the rest of the year. Those and like 10 other games 🙃

I don't need to predict kind of games like that.
I have zero interest with zelda games.
I still unsure with Pikmin 4.
Mario Kart 8 deluxe DLC ideas was quite turned me off.
Not interested with DLC idea for scarlet / violet when the games itself still problematic.
I don't wait for upcoming progress of 1st party Nintendo games.
What I like to predict is what other kids games I can get for Switch with good performance.

@Anti-Matter
Don’t take this the wrong way, but there is likely no shortage of kids games coming out this year. Plus this is meant to predict Nintendos first party release schedule.

Would be nice to see them squeeze in a new F-Zero or Starfox in there, just saying

I think there's a good chance for TP and WW HD to happen, but I'd still love to see Xenoblade X before I can finally forget about the WII U

@Megas75 F-Zero and Starfox? Yikes, I don’t think Nintendo will follow through with that unfortunately. And it will be some time before Wind Waker and Twilight Princess return, if ever. Nobody has said those two ports exist for the switch (except an old bearded twitter guy who got the prediction dead wrong in september) so I guess we can dream

BlueKnight07

There are some rumors out about an F-Zero game in the wings, possibly a remaster of GX, so I would throw that in later this year. I also think later this year or sometime next we get a full-fledged DK game.

TheBigBlue

@BlueKnight07 I guess, but I don’t really trust any source coming from Nintendo Prime. He’s a clickbait youtuber with no prior leaks and rumors history and he’s unreliable.

I'm always wrong with stuff like this lol. Here goes. Nintendo to announce Switch II in March to launch in September. Avoiding the Holiday period and the following quiet spell after.
So they'll release some big games before the reveal. Metroid Prime 4, Mario Odyssey 2, maybe a new Star Fox game. Then after the reveal we'll see some remasters - TTYD, WW / TP, FZGX and a good chunk of dlc, while they line up their software for launch,

Watch new hardware release this year now lol.

Partner Direct in September. Mostly third party games, very few first party games, over the next...eighteen months. Hardware announced 2025 for release in 2026, because Nintendo are going to get blood from the stone that is the Switch. I would be glad to be wrong about any (or all) of that, but that's the path I feel Nintendo is on.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

@TheBigBlue I think Star Fox has potential to sell really well if they go in an open space exploration direction like with Starlink or No Man's Sky. But even if they're interested in doing this, I don't think it happens this gen, maybe next gen. F-Zero though, I don't think that has much of a chance of coming back. It's never sold all that well and racing games don't have a ton of variety when it comes to gameplay mechanics so it's difficult to make the gameplay distinct from other racing games (most relevantly Mario Kart, which sells infinitely better). If Nintendo needs any kind of second racing IP, I don't think F-Zero is the one to bring back. Something like Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, or Excitebike would be better because those play and control much differently from the same old karts/cars that dominate the racing genre. Or perhaps they could make a new IP that's a footracing game in the vein of Sonic R.

I honestly don't know what kinds of new games, if any, we'll be getting between now and next gen. It feels more prudent to save those kinds of games for a 2017-esque launch year. 2D Mario, 3D Mario, and Mario Kart are all too big to waste on the twilight years of a console, it seems like they're headed for next gen and it'd be smarter to make them part of their 2017-esque launch year strategy. DK has been heavily rumored for a while but given that it hasn't happened in the 2 years it's been rumored that may be headed for next gen as well. Prime 4 is out there, but probably ending up cross gen. So what's even left that could squeeze in the next year to year and a half? Feels like they may just be coasting on DLC, remakes, and remasters until next gen.

I don't see WWHD/TPHD happening until later in 2024 at the earliest and perhaps separated rather than both in a double pack. If the next new mainline Zelda game isn't coming until 2029 because the BotW/TotK formula is staying instead of returning to the pre-BotW formula, you're going to want to spread out your ports/remasters/remakes.
